Pensiunea Totu Bun - Muntii Apuseni — Hotel in Sălciua

Totu'Bun is an excellent guest house quietly situated just outside the village of Sâlciua de Jos. Nice clean rooms with a terrace. Totu'Bun is one of the last houses next to a vast grassland. Wonderful walks start from the guest house. Maria's Romanian cooking is just great. Having breakfast, lunch or supper in the spacious living room is very nice. Lieke her husband provides the necessary ambiance. Son André speaks good English. Wireless internet is available, also in the rooms. Sâlciua de Jos is very well situated for day excursions in the beautifull surroundings. Hiking in the Carpathian mountains. The magnificent salt mine of Turda. Excursions to monasteries, Hungarian and Saxon villages. Adventure. Mihai the owner of the guest house is a very energetic guy, sometimes during weekends he visit Totu'Bun. Located in a rustic and peaceful area with a great view on Trascău mountains this house has friendly hosts and very tasty traditional food. The room that we had was not so big and it was decorated with romanian traditional motives. We had a great time and most likely we will go back sometimes. I rate with only 4 stars because they have to work a little bit on the cleaning ( clean windows in the room and also on the first floor, soap in the bathrooms, etc.) and then the price for the room will be correct. Also we didn't see any menus so we did not know the price of the food until the bill(probably because they have different plates every day, but still they can tell you te price). I haven't been so happy to visit a part of my country in a long time. The Apuseni Mountains are an absolute joy, and our stay at Totu Bun guest house made it all so much more worth it. ||The guest house is lovely, very small (only 5 guest rooms), the rooms are very clean, spacious, tastefully and traditionally decorated, the Romanian food (especially the soups) is very tasty, and they can cook whatever you want, whenever you want it. We went away for a stress-free couple of days, and that's exactly what we got. ||The surroundigs are absolutely gorgeous, everything is peaceful and invites you to relax.
