I chose this accommodation, because I have been going to Sadova for 15 years (until recently!).||||The road does not involve much effort, and the position (only the position) recommends it as a central point for many tourist attractions and mountain trails, and recently, even for skiing - maximum 30 minutes to the slope.||||about SERVICES||As I said, I have been to Casa Stefanel for 15 years, several times a year, and since the ski slope opened, several more times in the winter.||||Initially, things went decently, the hosts being what you expect from the people of Bucovina, hospitable, attentive to the tourist's requirements.||||Slowly, slowly, the hosts aged and aged badly, because Mr. Gheorghe's humor migrated to a kind of impertinent cool with notes of rudeness - when he honors with all the tourists in the pension ... Mrs. Rodica, nothing to say, works hard , cooks, strives, but can not overcome some hardships, which have intensified over time and have begun to overcome it.||||If I accepted the initial skids, now I think it is necessary to give up this location, for my own good and health.||||The culmination and which determined me to leave this review, was the visit of Easter, which we had to interrupt a day earlier, following a severe food poisoning - I also went to the hospital, because it worsened on the way back.||||Of course, I was asked for the money in full, even more than usual, although I was not notified in any way that the rates doubled during the Easter holidays.||||Given the fact that we have known each other for so many years, it made me feel that kindness was confused with stupidity, and I can't tolerate that for anyone.||||about ROOMS & COND. ACCOMMODATION||About the accommodation ... the rooms over time have got a patina and not a good one (because they just don't come, to get better as the years go by).||||||If at first they conveyed a feeling of nice comfort, with wooden furniture, with shelves full of books, mixed with all sorts of personal items, some interesting, and others quite chic, lately, although there has been enough competition in the area, they stayed with what they had in the beginning: doors that don't close too much, with too much glass for a room where you accommodate tourists (lack of privacy ?!), with too many old furniture and useless for the needs of the tourist, old carpets that you can hardly ignore - a simple parquet can be cleaned much more efficiently and safely.||||The bathrooms also feel the lack of modernizations, with installations that should have been replaced because they deteriorate and do not go with carpels and all those small defects contribute to the general appearance: you just want to make money, with minimal investment.||||The only visible investment in recent years, is seen in an attic with two apartments (relax, because they are not ready either!) And some wooden balconies. Mno, the accommodation capacity is increasing, that's good, but what do you do with the rest of the rooms that remain in the atmosphere of the '90s ?! You can't put LED TVs and hope that's enough.||||GASTRONOMY (PIECES & MEALS)||The meal is served in a space neither big nor small, but which can become totally unsuitable in winter, if the location is full.||||The food is decent, a bit dull in variety, but if you're not too picky, it works. I'm not the type to look for very sophisticated things, I like traditional cuisine, but not everyone just wants what is required of them as the menu of the day. There is still a lot to work on in the presentation chapter and last but not least on how to combine the dishes.||||The fact that the drink is offered from the house leaves me cold, because I prefer a little but quality, instead of quantity.||||They have a space outside the terrace, where theoretically you can grill, but it's a bit of a bathroom if you don't pay for the table and try to do something outside the kitchen.||||Regarding the source of food poisoning, they blamed us, that we are not used to food and that it is just an indigestion ... ah, all three of us did indigestion at the same time, given that we only ate in the boarding house.||||I repeat, for my health and the health of those close to me, I don't step on it anymore ... you can't get food poisoning if the hygiene rules in the kitchen are respected.||||LOCATION and SURROUNDINGS||The location is good ... in fact, this made me come back so many times, handy for many escapades and not even on hand, if you only come for skiing, to the Rarau slope.||||about FUN & RELAXATION||I didn't come to have fun in the pension, I do that outside of it.||||Frankly, I don't even see what you could do but...
Read moreWhile travelled from Bucarest to northern Romania, after passing cities like Brasov and Sighisoara we more aimed at the rural in Bucovina and Maramures. Dreamy, beautiful land... And Casa Stefanel was our first stop to stay. It is a family house in a very small place called Sadova, opposite of hills and meadows, that constantly makes you wanna breathe the whole view in. House is big and spacious and it really is a house with all its furniture, books on bookshelves, a tv in kitchen... Our landlady was very kind and smiley. Neither of us spoke each other's language and yet she was kind enough to stay with us during the breakfast, playing us traditional Romanian songs, and showing us her family in her shy, calm ways. I did felt sorry that I could not speak Romanian to talk more to her. We had a very spacious room, very clean as well, with a large bathroom so all was very comfy. Without a car, it may be hard to stay in Sadova as it is not so close to city but to discover Bucovina monasteries it is a very good point to start. ||||Landlady also offered us dinner but as we also wanted to see around, we went to the city and ate in a nice restaurant. Also there is a hotel nearby Casa Stefanel but noone spoke English and they were not very kind either. ||||All in all Casa Stefanel is a calm, nice and clean guesthouse to stay in the rural with all the comfort you need without any...
