My family and I stayed here for 3 nights while we were visiting Timisoara. ||Location: It’s fantastic. It’s hard to get any better. The hotel is located directly next to the Opera House aka Palace of Culture. There’s a historic restaurant called Lloyd just steps away. We walked to the children’s park along the canal (granted, it was about a 20 minute walk). We walked to Piata Unirii. We took 2 tours, and for both, we could easily walk to the starting point, even with children. The hotel looks like 2 buildings connected by a glass roof, which is really lovely. There’s a nice area between where you can have drinks or coffee when the weather is nice. Just in front of the hotel is a Starbucks. When we were there, just in front of the hotel was a pop up exhibit of a vertical garden which you can climb for some amazing views of Piata Victoriei. Bieraria 700 is a casual Romanian restaurant in the old fortress and it’s just a few minutes walk from the hotel. There are a lot of business travelers and there were quite a few conference rooms. ||Room: We booked a suite. It was on the 4th floor. I’ve seen reviews that say to avoid the old wing, but I didn’t see any other rooms, so I don’t know if we were in the old or new wing. I assume we were in the new wing because the floors were all wood/synthetic wood and very clean and nice. The kids slept on a fold out sofa, which was fine. We didn’t have a view, unfortunately. The bed for the adults was very comfortable. The lighting was very gentle and subtle. The bathroom was huge and had great counter space and a good number of hooks. Nice large pump soap, and none of those annoying tiny hotel soap bottles. There were no complimentary bottles of water, so buy that yourself somewhere. ||Service: I saw some other reviews mention this- when I called the reception, sometimes they answer and sometimes they don’t. I called to request pillows, an iron and ironing board and those came without issue. I’d like to mention Malsha- she was very friendly and offered great service. I wanted to book a massage at the spa and went down there and waited for about 15 minutes but no one came. I assume the masseuse was with a customer. The hair dresser took my name and number and said the masseuse would call me, but I didn’t hear back. I gave up on that. ||Breakfast: It was on the M level. There was plenty of seating which was nice. The coffee machine was great. The scrambled eggs mixed with bacon was fantastic. We’ve never had such good hotel eggs! There was bacon, sausage, hard boiled eggs, fresh cut vegetables, bread, cheeses, salumi, cereal, croissants, etc. I wish there were fresh cut fruits offered- they only had a few whole pears and oranges, and what looked like canned fruit. I also wish they had some more vegan milks like soya or almond. They only had coconut milk when I was there. ||Parking: It’s a very nice underground parking lot, but it’s expensive at 75 lei per day. ||Booking: I booked online and the price was 30 euros/day more expensive online versus on the phone. I booked online because I wanted the certainty of a confirmation, but if you can book over the phone, then you can save money. ||Internet: The wifi did not work for us. I called to let them know many times, but no one answered. I told the front desk at check out, and the man said no one else complained about it; only me. If you have an issue with wifi, go downstairs in person and let them know asap. ||I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others due to it’s location, spaciousness and...
Read moreBe careful of cameras! We caught the pool boy filming my wife in the changing room! The receptionist was unwilling to help in any way. ||We waited our turn to talk to him as he was the only "manager" in place. He even laughed in our face while making it crystal clear that he will not call the police or any other superior manager. He then informed us that it is more important to checkout the other guests who were baffled by the situation.||||We had to call the police on our own and deal with them while nobody from the hotel tried to assist.||Is that how you welcome guests to Romania????||||The matter is being investigated by the local authorities and we hope to hear back...
Read moreOn 29th of November I called this hotel to reserve a room for 65 euro as was on their site. They told it is not a problem. I just needed to send the email with the dates because they needed a confirmation by email as well. I dont get any answer. Called them twp days later on 1st of December. Because I want to guatantee this room. Still no problem, I got an email on 2 December that the hotel only have rooms available for 90 euro per night. Called the number again. They told that they can do nothing. ||No reaction for 4 days and then just to have another...
