EKA — Hotel in Sebeș

TO;DR: clean, nice, simple, respectul and helpful staff, budget location with hostel prices, highly recommended. Review: You get what you would expect for the price, even more. The place is a budget hotel and it's not trying to pretend it's more. What it does, is offering really quality, simple services at good prices with more than professional staff. I was expecting a clean and simple place where to put my head down as I was in town for a wedding. This was last minute and I gave them a call in the morning to book a room. We arrived around 8 in the evening, and already the staff was trying to find which room would suite us best, in terms of beds and noise. The place is only two years old. The room had a simple, yet efficient decore and was really clean. I'm allergic to dust, so I can feel instantly when cleaning was skipped or not done properly. Here, the simple furniture and lack of carpet meant they could clean it easily thus my allergies where in check. The rooms have no AC, this was clearly stated on their website and understood by me, and in this price range it was not expected, even more expensive places don't have it. It was a bit hard to find it and the buildings around it looked a bit strange, we had to stop for a second as we were not confident in the neighborhood. But right next to the hotel there's a really nice and well maintened public playground, which means the neighborhood is quite nice, quiet and safe. Combined with the multitude of surveillance cameras around the hotel and parking spots, I was more than confident to leave my car there without unloading it. We skipped breakfast, as we were trying to get a fast start in the morning. I can only say the coffee was awesome, if breakfast is at least half that good, then it's worth it. The staff insisted we get a coffee to start the day, while we load the car, on the house. It was really good and they tried to give us a second one, but unfortunately we were already behind schedule. I stayed (for work) in a lot of hotels from different chains and price ranges and never have I seen such friendly and nice staff. For me that's the best part of every acomodation, staff that goes beyond their attributes to make guests happy. You can be the fancies hotel, if your staff is ignorant and disrespectful people will not return. Here the young stuff was more than welcoming. Hopefully, management already knows this and keeps the staff happy and motivated as this will be seen in their attitude and dedication. Really impressed by the people working there :) If I will be in Sebeș again, I will return here...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as my husband had to attend in Mercur Ballroom which is situated at the exit from Alba Iulia, on DN1, and Sebes was closer. Eventhough the neighbourhood where the hotel is situated is not the most friendly(is quiet but poor) Eka is a building very well renovated, everything is almost new, very very clean. Towels are changed dialy and the hosts are very friendly, they help you with everything they can. Also the breakfast is ok, enough food to start the day and the coffee is really good.|I recommend it for certain! Good...
