Gasthof Sara — Hotel in Sibiu

The worst experience, DO NOT recommend.||||I made a phone reservation with late checkout. First, I was told that I could only check in until 10 PM, but then I was told that they could find a solution for me and I could come whenever I could. How nice, I thought, the gentleman is very accommodating.||||Okay, the day of departure arrived, we got in the car from Bucharest to Sibiu, and inspiration hit me to call the accommodation to announce that we were coming (although it wasn't necessary because my reservation had been confirmed over the phone during the initial call). When I called, the gentleman, annoyed, told me that check-in was only possible until 10 PM. I informed him that he had confirmed that I could arrive later, which was why I chose this accommodation, because I needed a late check-in since I couldn't arrive before 10 PM.||||Then, the gentleman asked me for my name and reservation code. I told him I didn't have a reservation code because I made the reservation over the phone with him. He then asked, "Did I send you a confirmation message?" I replied, "No," to which he said, "Well, see... I didn't confirm it through a message." Basically, he was making it seem like it was my fault. I told him, "Well, you didn't tell me that you would confirm through a message. Was I supposed to guess? I called you, and you confirmed the reservation over the phone." After some mumbling (I didn't understand exactly what he said, whether they were verbs, adjectives, and nouns, or just interjections, but I let it go), he told me that he would arrange for a self-check-in. I thanked him and we continued our journey, relieved that we wouldn't be sleeping in the car in Sibiu.||||A few minutes later, the gentleman called me back and said that he didn't have any free rooms. After a few seconds of processing this information, I asked, "What do you mean you don't have any free rooms?" "Just like that, we don't have any, I didn't confirm your reservation, I didn't send you a message, there's nothing I can do for you." So, it was still my fault that the gentleman was incompetent. I told him that I would give him a one-star review, and the gentleman, very elegantly, told me that "he couldn't care less about my review" (more specific I don't give a f**k about your review) and then hung up on me.||||What did I do? I started looking for accommodations at 10 PM on the way to Sibiu, hoping to find something... Stay away! DO...

Buna ziua! Am fost cazat impreuna cu iubita mea si parintii ei timp de 3 nopti la pensiunea Gasthof Sara. Nu recomand absolut deloc! Pretul nu este deloc complementar cu conditiile. In primul rand, am dat un mesaj cu cateva zile inainte pe Booking pentru a intreba daca este totul okay cu rezervarea, daca au primit de la Booking rezervarea, etc. Nu am primit nici un raspuns, nici un telefon. Cand am ajuns la cazare, usa inchisa, fara sa fie cineva prin preajma sa ne deschida. Am sunat la numarul de pe Booking si mi s-a raspuns in sictir ca : "Va veni cineva, asteptati". Nenea care ne-a deschis parea nou prin zona, fiind cam pierdut si nici macar nu stia daca avem camerele pe care le-am rezervat cu zile intregi inainte disponibile. Am iesit sa luam bagajele de la masina dar usa in spatele meu s-a inchis fara sa imi zica cineva ca imi trebuie cartela ca sa deschid. Apoi nenea asta disparea cu orele, fara sa ne intrebe daca avem nevoie de ceva. O domnisoara de la intretinere care este din afara si care nu vorbeste nici romana dar nici engleza mai se plimba pe aici. Camerele dupa cum am zis sunt foarte prost dotate : mocheta murdara, baie extraordinar de mica, dus fara perdea sau geam, apa ajunge in toata baia fara sa existe o scurgere, exista 2 prize langa pat care sunt foarte departate, nu exista un dulap unde sa iti pui hainele, terasa unde este o masuta de cafea si 2 scaune este foarte murdara, masuta este incredibil de jegoasa si pe jos sunt gandaci si muste moarte, lustra de la baie nu functioneaza si functioneaza doar un bec de la oglinda, nu exista un minifrigider sa iti pui o sticla de apa sau un aliment, usa de la terasa este foarte prost izolata fonic si se aude totul ( am avut camera cu vedere la strada principala si era groaznic ca din 5 in 5 sa auzi cate o masina sau cate un camion ), iar aerul conditionat este de toata jena si de toata scarba. Le-a fost greu, defapt nu greu, le-a fost o lene jegoasa sa traga un furtun de scurgere a apei in afara terasei acasa ca au pus furtunul intr-un bidon de 5 litrii, care se umple foarte repede. Am uitat aerul conditionat pornit intr-o zi si cand ne-am intors am avut surpriza sa imi vad laptopul cat si alte lucruri imbibate cu apa pentru ca a dat inapoi pe traseu. Micul dejun este unul mediocru, poate chiar prost, cateva mezeluri, ceva cascaval si poate o omleta de un ou, sau chiar un ou ochi. Cafeaua dimineata ti-o faceai singur si nu te servea nimeni cu un suc natural, apa sau cafea. Aparatul de cafea chiar a ramas fara boabe si a trebuit sa caut pe cineva sa imi dea boabe, pentru ca erau puse intr-o zona cu acces interzis, cand ar fi trebuit sa fie puse aproape de aparat daca tot nu se chinuie nimeni sa te ajute. Distanta de la cazare pana in centrul vechi este de 40 de minute pe jos, cu transportul in comun 20 si cu masina 10! Este de prost gust sa ceri 300 de lei / noapte / camera cand cazarea duce lipsa de atatea lucuri mici dar necesare si de bun gust. Parcarea este la strada, asta daca ai loc, iar daca vrei sa parchezi in locul special amenajat in interiorul locatiei trebuie sa platesti 20 de lei pe zi. Sunt foarte dezamagit de aceasta cazare, pretul este incredibil de mare pentru ce ofera si pentru locatia unde este pozitionata....

My group of friends and I booked this hotel few weeks prior to our trip. Maybe because of how busy Sibiu is during its Christmas fair, we were given rooms in a building next to the main one that we saw in photos(without prior notice), for the same price. Unfortunately, the rooms were not even close as decent as what we expected. Besides how small it was, the room was very cold and we had to wait up to 5 minutes for hot water everytime we showered. We had two beds, one of which was broken(I added a picture) thus no one was able to sleep there. As there were no rooms vacant, we couldnt switch rooms. Moreover, the host made us feel unconfortable, as he continued to say unwanted compliments to one of my friends after she clearly expressed her distress. We felt harassed by this old dude, and were clearly scammed. Its not my first time coming to Sibiu and there is a lot of better accomodation than...
