SCAM ALERT: Caution if you are a tourist!

The food and atmosphere was good and the service appeared lovely at first. Once I asked the bill, I noticed that the total sum was quite high. My mistake, I didn't thoroughly checked the bill, but I could still notice that my dish, the first on the card, the big Platter which is announced at 160 LEI, was suddenly 220 LEI on the bill. I also didn't put the Tip on the bill, because I wanted to tip later in cash.

All went so fast that I paid and before I managed to make sense of it, the waitress left and I noticed that she immediately removed the bill from the table just leaving me with the receipt.

I told my girlfriend my suspicion and we both agreed that my dish was for sure 160 Lei and not 220. I asked the waitress to bring me back the bill, which she did after 5 minutes.

It was another one! On that one my platter was accounted for 180 LEI and she had added 40 LEI by herself as tip. So this time they tried to dissimulate the overcharged 60€ from the platter by splitting the amount.

I immediately confronted her with the fact that this was a scam and without even saying something, or me requesting an amount, she came back with the exact sum, 60 LEI, that she had overcharged.

She mentionned something about the computer not working, but we all know thats bulls**t.

I loved this rustic restaurant with a terrace. I felt welcomed and comfortable here, and the food was very fresh. We ordered pork and mititei, and the lady went to the grill and prepared them on the spot. She was one of the friendliest waitresses I have met lately. We also had tripe soup and papanasi. This is one of the few last typical restaurants around here. Food was delicious and restaurant is decorated with local traditional forniture. In this restaurant you can find literally any Romanian food you like to try and if you do not know what to eat, just ask the super nice grandma waiter and she will be happy to help you.
