Wenge House — Hotel in Sinaia

Me and my husband booked the pension threw booking.com for 2 nights, 9 and 10 August 2013, but we never had the chance to actually stay there. The booking was confirmed the same day.||After a long 11 h trip from Cluj, Saturday the 9th of August, we arrived at the pension, but everything was closed.||After we called the number we had from the site, we talked to someone(manager or owner?) and found out that the rooms are "blocked", and that he sent us an email to tell us that they have problems with the pipe installation and the booking is cancelled, wich we couldnt check because we were traveling the whole day 10am to 9pm, and called us, wich wasnt true.||We complained and said that is late, we dont know the place, we are hungry and need a place to sleep.||This person offered than 2 nights accomodation at his friends, too houses from there, same price but not wifi nor food.||We dont have anything to complain about the room , was clean and nice bath, alone on the top floor of the house, but the problem was that the 2 nights we suppose to sleep in the pension Wenge were people staying, wich made us think that they didnt have any problem accomodating other people. ||That means that was a voluntarily dobble booking,to get costumers for his friend .They had maybe friends or family staying in the pension, wich is not really fair , when people are coming such a long way.||We never met this person whoever it is and we dont think is a good way to treat the guests the way weve been treated. It looks to us that is a cone going on.||It was a bitter taste for me , as a Romanian, to show Sinaia for the first time to my husband, who is British, in a bad light.||||J.T. and K. READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING We booked the place for two nights, but we couldn't come the first night, because of the terrible traffic jams in the area. We informed the property manager of this. He agreed for us to come the next day instead. When we arrived the next day, he said the booking was cancelled and we couldn't stay there because he had no available room for us, and he cannot refund the one night stay to us either. He told us booking cancelled the booking, but in reality he was the one to cancel it (this is shown on the booking.com app) He even said that our mistake was that we communicated with him on WhatsApp, not the booking.com platform, so he knew what he was doing, he cancelled our booking so he could rent it out to someone else and get the money twice for one night. We were forced to book something last minute somewhere else. Think twice before...

we were alone in the house. At midnight, my wife woke me up because the bed started to shake strangely. I thought I was dreaming but she screamed at me and opened the light. The shaking faded out after a while but it was felt like a moderate earthquake. National Institute for Earth phisics haven't reported anything related and no one else felt this. Later, after we switched off the lights, we heard weird noises coming from the wood stairs. Heavy steps. We called the owner imediatwly but he didn't responded. I will definitely come back with a nightvision camera, some geophones and an EMI sensor to check out this.
