The place is really great, unfortunately sometimes we are left behind by the people we hire. First of all, I asked for a rossini and the waiter replied: "if you tell me what it contains we can probably make it for you if we have the ingredients" - which is a good answer but leads to an underline problem, if you're a waiter of 40YO and you don't know what is that a rossini, bellini and the difference with a mimosa, maybe you should serve at a "mici" joint, not a supposedly 5* restaurant. We ended up dinking something with prosecco and/or champagne with something that I identified as fanta. Now, about the food, I understand that people have different tastes in food, but we cook with salt, that is an important ingredient. My saint-jaques were salty, and I mean salty, but the other plate was saltless. My duck breast was good, but the side (carrot puree) was bitter, the other main dish was plenty of risotto with 4 saint-jacques, I mean a real platefull and again saltless, and it wasn't risotto, more like "pilaf" since there was absolutely no taste of cheese in it and the consistency, well ... don't get me started. Again the place is great and it could really be even greater, especially since in the parking lot there were a Rolls and a Bentley. If people owning those cars accept this kind of service and products, maybe you should visit more 5* places and educate those employees, maybe even hire some newblood and pay them better. In the end, the quality of your service and product depends on how much you pay for both of them. 600RON for the quality I got was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made a reservation for āPavilion Lac,ā on a hot day of 36 degrees outside. There were only two tables occupied with customers on that pontoon, and we should have been the 3rd table. The waiter seated us at a table in the sun, without a spot of shade. I asked that waiter to seat us at a table with an umbrella because the sun was literally burning us. He said he was going to ask the "manager" and returned after 15 minutes. Meanwhile, one of the two tables became free and was occupied by other customers, brought by other colleagues of the waiter who should have taken care of our table. Practically, after 20 minutes, having reserved in advance, we only had a table in the sun at 36 degrees. The waiter, devoid of logic and overwhelmed by the situation, tries to explain to us that he doesn't have 10 hands and that he can move us inside, with air conditioning. Yes, that's exactly what we wanted, to drive almost 1 hour from Bucharest, and stay inside. As if in Bucharest we would not have found restaurants without terraces. For 5 stars as far as the location, the staff is extremely poorly trained and unprofessional. For management, the waiter was a short, fit guy with blue eyes. PS: educate the waiter to wash his hands after moving the furniture from the terraces and then to touch the customers' plates and to have the T-shirts washed because they have not been white for a long time. I would have left a ā0 starsā review if possible, for unprofessionalism and lack of respect for customers. We will never return to this place and it will never be on the list of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIndeed 5 star facilities but services disappointing. Indoor pool not 31 degrees as advertised but 27, fine for exercising but too cold for relaxing and use as spa. Sauna was turned on after our request, but steam room not and we didnāt dare to ask again. First night, we had room service, we asked for 2 burger meals, but to our surprise they informed us only 1 burger left?? Breakfast the first morning was a huge disappointment, very limited choice and had to hunt around for coffee capsules. The staff were borderline rude and dismissive. A lot better on day two with more choice of bread and smoked salmon. Dinner second night also disappointing. We had to āargueā to be able to sit outside. Ordered a bottle of wine for around 150 lei, it was poured straight into my glass, no trying or tasting. I could just stop the waiter from pouring sparkling water on top op it. Later on he knocked over my almost full glass of water. Accidents happen, but an offering of a dry towel to dry my clothes and replacement of the water would have been appropriate, especially for a ā5 starā resort. It was disappointing, but wise on their part, that no one asked how our stay was at check out. If you want to go and eat somewhere else be aware that itās a twenty minutes walk to the closest restaurant. I will not return at this hotel, despite the beautiful room...
