I would like to start my review by mentioning that I am born in Romania and I am also a college graduate, so my understanding of the Romanian language is excellent. Even though I have been living in the United States since 2002, I speak perfect Romanian with absolutely no grammar mistakes or with a foreign accent.|The biggest disappointment of a two day stay at Pensiunea Zefir was the way I was spoken to by one of their employees and more specifically, a young waitress.|The first night, my husband, my mother and myself were truly looking forward to have a nice and relaxing dinner at Pensiunea Zefir to enjoy their beautiful garden. We chose a table towards the back of the courtyard and we noticed that there was only one young waitress serving all tables. There was only one other table that had customers and the waitress was going back and fourth inside the restaurant/kitchen/bar trying her best to please them. We understood that she was busy and we were not in a hurry at all, but after waiting almost 15 minutes I decided to walk inside the restaurant to only ask for 3 menus and to ask the waitress if she would like us to move to a table that was closer to the kitchen and not the one that we were sitting that was further just to make things easier for her walking back and forth.|To be honest, as a client, I should have never been concerned about this matter, but as a human being I felt it was the correct thing to do and to ask.|The young waitress' answer was:|"I am busy at this moment, can't you see? I will bring you menus when I will get a chance."|My answer was:|"I noticed you are busy. I am not in a rush at all and I understand we have to wait, but we only wanted to look at the menu to be prepared to order and also to ask if it would be better for you if we move to a different table."|Her answer was:|"I do not care where you are going to sit, I will get to you when I will get to you. Right now I am busy with other clients and I do not know if I have time for you."|This being said, I answered "Sure, no problem, I understand" and I walked out the restaurant.|Long story short, we left and for the total length of our stay in Timisoara we had all our meals, lunches and dinners, at one great restaurant located at Piata Operei. We ended up spending an average of 200 RON per lunch/dinner at a restaurant where we were treated with politeness and the best part was that every time we had the same waiter, a great young men. We almost became friends and I made sure that his tip, every time, was 25-30 RON just for the fact that from his behavior towards us he made us enjoy our stay in Timisoara.|At Pensiunea Zefir we booked 2 double rooms. The rooms were not very clean, which I also read from other reviews. We paid 40 Euros per night, so our expectations were not too high, but I did not expect holes in my bed sheets or a smell of stale air in the room, or a carpet full of stains and hair.|The breakfast buffet was very good. There was a decent selection of food. It starts at 7:30. If you decide to eat later than 7:30, the trays with food are almost empty and they will not be refilled.|Pensiunea Zefir is located in a very nice and quiet residential area of Timisoara, within walking distance of a few grocery stores and within 10-15 minutes by car to the center of the city and the train station.|At check out, I mentioned our disappointing experience with the waitress to the receptionist. The owner/manager was there. We had a short conversation. He apologized to us for the girl's behavior and he told us that we were not the first clients to mention her behavior. He also told us that he is forced to put up with the way she treats the clients because of the very scarce labor force in the city. |One last request to us from the owner/manager was not to post an unfavorable review to his establishment because it will hurt his business.|That kind of a request , in my opinion, tells a lot about what kind of person the owner/manager himself is. We were his clients, we paid for our rooms, and we also wanted to enjoy a nice dinner at his restaurant. At the end of our trip, he was not concerned at all about the way we were treated by his employee, but only concerned not to give a negative review.|We are not picky clients. We understand certain situations, but we do not understand rudeness.|Just as an ending note, every negative aspect that was mentioned by other clients about Pensiunea Zefir and I read it proved to be true. If you decide to book a room, be prepared to know upfront...
Read moreThe hotel is located in a residential area, easy to reach by car. ||Positives: ||* very beautiful rooms (no clue if all are the same, but I loved the room in which we stayed. Spatious, clean and tastefully decorated). This is the main reason why I would return to this hotel ||* very good prices (35Eur/night)||* free breakfast ||* free parking on the street. ||||To improve:||* personnel: the girl from the reception was as unhelpful as she could be. I asked her if someone can help with the luggage, as my husband had a severe backpain, but she did not care much; she ignored my question. I also asked if we can still eat in the restaurant (we arrived at 9pm) but she said no, without checking. They had a private party in the restaurant and were too busy with that. She did not provide any guidance for another place to eat in the vicinity. She just sent us in the city and "you will find something". Some training would really help. ||* design of the hotel is a bit odd. To go to our room we had to pass with all our luggage with no help from anyone, through the restaurant and between people dancing at the party. ||The most surprising was the height of the terrace doors. My husband is 190cm and he banged his head on the top of the door frame, as this seems designed for very little people. ||* in the room we found a list of things one should not do (don't put the white towels on the floor etc), but not a list of useful things, like the telephone number of the reception, or the wireless password or else. ||* at the breakfast we were made clear that the boss only allows one coffee per person. We had to pay separately the additional ones. ||||Would we recommend this hotel? I would say Yes. ||With a bit of additional training, the hotel is otherwise a good...
Read moreThis is a very nice location for people seeking a calm and green environment in the neigborhood of the center. The service is very friendly and attentive and the rooms are beautiful decorated and very clean . Nevertheless the wi-fi in room 104 has some frequent problems . The restaurant , despite the fact that the food is acceptable, lacks quantity and organisation. The portions are very small and one day I only got my vegetables on the moment I finished my meal . The responsible waiter excused forthis and offerd me a drink and a rebate! I appreciated this, but this does not resolve...
