Excellent for the price you're paying. Rooms are very clean and tidy - comes with towels + hairdryer + hand soap. We stayed in a private room and it was very spacious, but there are dorm style rooms too if you're a big group/family. There was an ironing board in the hallway so I assume you can ask for an iron (we just didnt). Owners young son Vlad (think that's the right spelling? May be Vled???) is a hero! He's the English speaker, and is really helpful and helped us translate between the owners.
Breakfast (not included in price as one other reviewer has suggested) is perfect fuel food - selection of meats, egg, tomato and bread with coffee/tea. There might be other options, we didn't ask. We just said "yes" when asked if we wanted breakfast and that's what was given!
There's a lovely kept back garden too with a BBQ & outdoor garden chairs + tables, and it's in a really peaceful/quiet neighbourhood in a residential area about 15 minutes from the airport. Nothing to do with the hotel but perhaps worth mentioning - when we arrived at the airport at 11pm, the taxis out front asked us where we were going and quoted us 40leu which might have been expensive by local standards (I dont know?) but not by our own London taxi standards so we were happy + he was really nice. All in all, very happy and owners offered us a lift to the local train...
Read moreNice enough place, but totally isolated from anything of worth. I'm disabled so walking was not an option. Bathroom was also unfriendly in that the shower cubicle has a large step into it...and with no grab rails, it was impossible for me to use it. Resorting to a simple hose down rather than a complete shower.
I found the owner and her daughter-in-law, VERY friendly and welcoming and although there was no meals available in the evening, they did offer to order a take-away for me...but I settled on a few beers that they sell.
Breakfast was very good at €5.00.
I assume that in high season the restaurant is busy and well supported, but at the end of October it is lifeless. The curtains in the room offer very little protection from light intrusion and even with the blinds drawn, the daylight is still visible. TV had very few choices and no decent English speaking channels.
Parking was free and right outside the property. I rate 3* due only to the restaurant being closed and the distance from everything.
The daughter in law speaks great English, her mother-in-law only Romanian and German. But Google Translate once again...
Read moreI was there for a night, but I was amazed by the place! Located in a quiet area, near the Bega river, you find here everything you need: very good breakfast, very clean rooms and an a super-clean bathroom. It's better than many 4 stars hotels that I had the chance to visit. The owner it's a very communicative lady and she has also a very nice white cat a friendly dog that it's a pleasure to pet. If you want a great quiet, clean and low price accommodation, this is the...
