La Bucovineanca — Hotel in Vama

Excellent and lovely location in the heart of Bucovina, Romania! The minute my family and I arrived, we were in awe of the beautiful scenery and how flawlessly this mountain inn fits in with everything around it. Right away, we were attended to and the service was phenomenal from there on out. Everyone working there is helpful, personable, and determined to make your experience special. The hotel had many unique aspects, but one of our favorite features was the outdoor eating area where we could relax, order delicious food from the restaurant, admire the scenery, and, of course, drink traditional Romanian spirits. There is also a farm on the far end of the hotel grounds with, among all things, ostriches! The hotel itself is a classic mountain villa with a homey, cabin-like interior and simple but immaculately clean rooms. The pensiunea's location is ideal for anyone who wishes to explore Bucovina and visit the famous monasteries which are all within driving distance. Choseed this B&B (pensiune, pension) since it was close to the Monasteries in Bucovina and Gura Humorului. We booked as a couple a superior room (ranked 4 stars), based on the good reviews, but we were disappointed. There was no mini bar/fridge in the room, no hair dryer, no shower gel, just 1 vanity kit and 1 shower cap (although we made it clear when booking that there will be 2 of us), the shower head was extremy old and barely working. The worst thing was the horrible mattress which made sleeping almost impossible, as I felt I was lying on rocks. The place seemd clean, but there were stains on the curtains and the tablecloth.
