Casa Colinita — Hotel in Vatra Moldoviței

This is THE place for a rural vacation! Although on a national highway, the location is decently quiet and one can get a good rest. The surroundings are incredible and the few local people that I was able to talk to were very natural and happy to chat with tourists. But the hosts - I can only describe them like this: I felt like I was visiting a very good old friend at his parent's house. We were able to have interesting conversations on topics like tourism, agriculture, local and family life. We were able to see and touch (literally) the rural life, by giving a hand to prepare for the neighbors' wedding party or milking the cow (which the kids were more than excited about :-) ). The food, prepared with all-local ingredients, was excellent! ...and more than we could have ever ate. The host is very natural and seems to have been born for this :-) My family and I really appreciated the natural interactions we had with everyone there and the hosts' attention to fine details. We got a lot of travelling advice for the area (such as the Easter Egg museum or the many hiking trails available). The only regret we have after visiting Casa Colinita is that we only stayed there...

Having just visited Casa Colinita with my family, all I can say this Pensiunea is a hidden gem. Ion the host is a friendly informative guy providing details of the things to see and do in the area. Ion also can do hiking and other activities. In fact while we stayed he demonstrated traditional Romanian egg painting. The accommodation is comfortable with large rooms. Being in the countryside it is quiet and peaceful. We also took advantage of breakfast and evening meals which are an extra charge, but go for it as it is all natural produce and to be honest the quality, quantity and taste was like eating like Kings and Queens. We loved this place. It’s a real agroturistic B&B, with cows, goats, horse, chicken, turkeys... The hosts are very friendly and always helpful. They live here as well. We opted for half bord, and it was the best idea we could have had, as everything was homemade and very tasty. The room was very clean and functional with traditional decorations typical for the region. Beds were comfy too. If you are open to new experiences, this is the right place for you. Ionuț will even teach you to decorate eggs in a traditional way. We had great fun to do these “ouă încondeiate” and know now how...
