It is the 2nd time we've been here and we were kind of disapppointed this time. We wanted to relax at the spa but the chlorine level was so high in the water that irritated our eyes and airways. I coughed for 2 hours and barely fell asleep. I informed the reception and was told that they know about this and the people from maintanance were also informed but they keep adding the same amount. You can feel the smell from the hallway. We ordered food in our rooms as we wanted to eat late after the restaurant closed and the staff were beyond nice and accomodating. They brought it into our rooms but it was absolutley tasteless. Not like in the pictures from the menu and ingredients were missing. The breakfast was the poorest i have seen. Very very few options and cheap ones too (example tea from Fares). Even 3 star hotels have e better selection. There was no shampoo and shower gel dispenser provided an outrageous small quantity. Enough to wash a finger. Had to was with the soap from the sink. The thermostat was not working. At all. The receptionist at our request turned the heath up to 23°c from her computer but realized after we came from the spa that it did not worked either. Temperature went to maximum 20°C. Spoon for the water bucket in the dry spa was missing. Also there was a group making loud noise in the middle of the night like they rented the entire hotel.
The good part was the big bed, very comfy, all was clean and the staff was friendly, nice and as helpful as possible. The location is beautiful...
Read moreThis is a little gem of a place! Not only did we had an excellent stay at the hotel... comfortable, quiet, wonderful! We had a relaxing time at the spa also....great modern sauna, steam room and jacuzzi overlooking an enchanting little chapel that will let you forget everyday troubles and force you to relax in the best way possible. We had such an exquisite time at their restaurant. Food was organic and sourced from locals farms, the meat and cheese were so tasty! Service was impeccable!, Alex took the time to explain Romanian food to me and my wife, he was able to pair it with a great wine for dinner and his presence was what you should expect when you go to a foreign country, knowledge and kindness, and a magnificent pride of your country! We will never forget our stay at The Cardinal Hotel. Romania will be in our hearts forever. Kudos to Anca at the front desk who made us...
Read morePoor customer service. When we arrived at the hotel, the bathroom was very dirty, we found hair on the floor and the spaces between the tiles were yellow, that means that cleaning is poor, it was a lor of dirt. We found bugs in the bathroom and when we’ve told the receptionist about it, apparently they were aware of the situation but they didn’t take any action. The bugs were that type of bugs that you find in old and dirty places. The food was awful, no taste and the desert was not home made, it was a apple pie bought from Fornetti, that we paid 16 Ron for, this not being food for a 4* hotel. Even though I’ve shared my feedback with them prior to paying the accomodation, they weren’t bothered at all and didn’t try to make some damage control, they could...
