We went there with a group of 40 people, basically we rented out the whole Hotel. The food was quite good, the waiters were nice and the location is great. That's about all the good parts. There was a kitchen exhaust pipe right next to my room's window(what were they thinking). When I arrived the whole room smelled like fried chips and onions. The Bathroom was pretty run down. Pieces of tile missing and the shower head support was torn out. They retained our ID cards during check in to copy the data, but the next day when one of the girls went to get it back they said she can have it when she checks out, I had to go with her to get it back. When the lady at the reception saw me she knew she'd get in trouble if she didn't hand it over imediately. At the end, without telling us, they charged each of us an extra bogus fee of 30 RON per person because we brought our own drinks with us even though they close the bar at 20pm. As reason they stated they expected us to buy more drinks from them. I am still thinking about contacting customer protection services to make a formal complaint. They made a bonfire for us on Saturday night which was coupled with meat and vegetable skewers. Bad idea, I burned my hand and my arm hair in the process of cooking those things. The fire was so hot you couldn't get close to it and the skewers were quite tasteless and bad, not worth the effort. They didn't think that through at all. Oh and everyone had to pay for them whether we ate those things or not, they said you can't join the bonfire if you don't also buy the skewers. Half of us ended up not joining out of principle, that's just bad maketing. Not going there again unless they change their wily ways. The food is the only...
Read moreNovember 2022 the team wanted to get out for the weekend so here we are ... at the Oxygen Hotel or HO2 if you like in Poiana Marului, Caras Severin county. ||For the first time all the 8 of us ... and what did we found? bear with me: ||Location - on the shores of the Bistra Marului river, easy to find and in a great spot - the river is flowing through the courtyard. Parking in front or next to the hotel, easy , simple and free of charge. Scorilo Brewery literally 2 minute away - 1 if you hurry up your pace. ||So the great location is a given ... nothing to complain about. Especially for those who love beer. ||Rooms - very clean , simple but functional and with comfortable bedding - overall all you needed you had , nothing to complain on this. ||Food at the hotel restaurant was very good, minor flaws here and there , hence not the perfect score but what was really great the weekend we booked the hotel was organizing a wine tasting event (from the wineries of "Dealu' Dorului" Silagiu - Buzias, Banat region of Romania ) and the price was a real bargain for the wine tasting including also a 5 course meal with cheese, cold cuts, trout fillet and pork + desert ...excellent event - we were so lucky to be there at the right time. ||Service and staff, very friendly and very nice people, fast check in and check out ... payment with credit card , fast and easy. ||Prices really pocket friendly, even nowadays with all the prices rising, still very decent. ||Overall a great spot for a weekend or even for more days with family or friends - if you are looking for a place in the area, I do recommend you try this place we had an excellent time and for sure...
Read moreThe location is great, the fresh air perfect, however there are a few things these people could work on. The rooms are nice, not very big, but nice and definitely clean! However the windows have no insect net, therfore being in the mountains with all the flies, mosquitoes, spiders and other insects keeping the window open was not an option. The terrace is nice, but they could invest in more laying down chairs next to the hotel. They have a beautiful place near the water, however people cannot sit down and enjoy as there are no chairs out there. The restaurant service is very very poor. They don't have enough menius, so as soon as you place the order they take those away, it's almost like they don't want you to order anything else. It takes forever for them to come to your table and take your order, sometimes the garlic sauce comes significant less than other sauces and again they take their time to come and clean up your table. We wanted desserts, but didn't get any as again we couldn't place the order as there was nobody there. We never were asked if we want anything else as again they never check in on their guests to see if they have a good time, if they need anything else. And this in the condition that you are staying at their hotel and eat 2 meals per day there. Zero interest in their guest and in them having a good time or a good experience. There is no information at the reception on what you can do or visit around the area. But this is a beautiful place to visit, and the people I found not being...
