Hotel R&K — Hotel in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

Our stay at the RK Hotel in Ghimbav was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, we were very pleased with the hotel staff who were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcomed. The cleanliness of the hotel also impressed us, making our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable.

Despite these positives, our experience was somewhat marred by several drawbacks. The absence of a proper AC unit in the room was quite a letdown, particularly given the hot weather. The provided portable AC was not only noisy but also inefficient at cooling the room. Moreover, opening the window wasn't an option as the loud chatter of people outside was quite disruptive.

Furthermore, the lack of an elevator posed an additional inconvenience, especially since we had to carry our luggage up to our room without assistance. Breakfast also fell short of our expectations, both in terms of quality and availability of options. Having to wait 30 minutes for fried eggs to be replenished was particularly disappointing. Comfortable and clean rooms, good water pressure. Polite Staff. Average breakfast. There are portable Air Conditioning Units mounted in every room, which are very noisy - there is also a centralized heating system. The walls are very thin and you can easily hear the guests in other rooms. Easily accessible by car, but the parking is small, and you might find yourself without a parking space. The worst thing about this place is that it's literally in the middle of a field, nothing else around it. Also, there's nowhere to hide from the sun if you wanna sit outside for a drink. They have a table with 4 chairs in front of the hotel, and another 3 tables in the back, but they're right under the sky, no umbrellas...

The reservation was made by phone at 19.00, we announced that we'll arrive around 22.00. When we got to the hotel, surprise, just one room was ready, the other one hasn't been cleaned. The gentleman from front desk was very kind, he explained the situation, his colleagues didn't tell him that the room wasn't ready. He tried to clean it, but has done it rather poorly, I will not mention them here. The room was ok, rather big. No hooks on the walls, in the room or in the bathroom, for clothes or towels.
