Queen Mary — Hotel in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

The room was cluttered with someone else’s belongings. The smell was vile — like someone had tried to cover up body odor with liters of cheap perfume. The bed, and especially the pillows, reeked of sweat; I had to wrap the pillows in towels just to use them. The bathroom was clean and usable, but that was the only positive aspect. No services were provided at all.

I travel all over Romania for work and usually stay in hotels, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. I even considered sleeping in my car instead.

As a comparison, tonight I'm staying at Cabana Șoimu for the same price — and I get breakfast included. The room here is spotless, with a clean, comfortable bed. The difference is...

I was their first customer in one the rooms (they own another familly-run B&B in a different location), and I found it at night time (no plans for lodging in the area). It was great: CHEAP, like SO CHEAP; free parking inside the facillity, or free outside on public space; spotless clean inside and brand new (modern furniture, brand new bathroom); nice outside grilling area, and big gathering table with a wooden roof on it; tasty breakfast and nice, enjoyable hosts (the owner's familly was there). I would higly recomend it to everyone visiting Brasov by car, just because it's outside the city conglomeration, it's quiet, and has a rural-look in the area plus the spectacular...
