Belka Hostel — Hotel in Листвянское городское поселение

Pre-arrival Communication with Belka was very prompt and helpful esp in order to obtain papers to organise Russian visas||The staff were very friendly Alex and then Sascha. Offered lots of support for us to get settled eg organising food, washing and for the lay of the land.||The hostel has an upper and lower level kitchen/ lounge set up. These are extremely user friendly and have just enough equipment for you to self-cater.||Plus they are warm.||The whole facility is homely and snug. It seems purpose built as a hostel.||Showers have low pressure but that is a good water saving mechanism !!||As weary travellers we were able to get some washing done and this was a major life saver.||As a small group we were able to get a 4 bed dorm room together which was great plus. We had a room key, which basically gives you peace of mind to leave stuff at the hostel. Another moment to reduce risk or worry.||This hostel is up a long road from the lakeside so be prepared for that.||The Internet did not work at all - this was not the end of the world but posed a few problems as apart from a wi-fi spot 1/2 way down in the road to the lake, we were unable to identify any wi-fi cafes in town. I ended up perched at this wi-fi spot while it was snowing trying to sort out details for our next move. Be prepared for this also.||We needed to have a restful place for a couple of days and Belka provide this admirably ( well the lake helps also).||||Listvyanka is a small town on an amazing lake, once you get over the geographic wonderment it gets easier to locate services eg: markets, banks and so forth. This is a green Hostel in a bit remote area The sleeping rooms are in small houses around the main house. The main house has two solar heated showers for everyone (you may have to wait). But the coolest thing is truely the woodheated outdoor saunarium. Especially in the cold days this is awesome. The garden is locked down so you have to take a key with you when you plan to go for a walk. Also there are many surveillance-around the house (make sure you don't get outside the sauna naked)

The there is not much staff in this hostel.( I only saw one at a time.) But they are english-speaking and nice too.

For all the smokers: this hostel is completly smokefree. That means that you have to get outside onto the street to smoke. Otherwise the owner simply throws you out of the hostel (thats what they said to us)

A disadvantage is the location, and the internetconnection. Set at the end of a street going into the mountains, you'll have to walk quite a bit to get to the Baikal lake. (We took a taxi back up). On our arrival we also had to notice that there was no wifi and the cellular pole was not working. This meant full isolation up there.

Большой дом,в котором 2 двухместых номера и 2 четырехместных и домики (типа сарайчики с одним небольшим окном, стоящие отдельно-в них 2 кровати,1 тумба,батарея,свет,это все,мы даже стул принесли из кухни,вбитые крючки в стену,вешалок,шкафов нет)надо заметить,что окно в сарайчик имеет ручку открытия снаружи,вообщем,любой может открыть окно,бронировала напрямую у владельцев,в авг стоимость 2х номера 1700руб,вся"прелесть"этого дома это идеальная слышимость,мы жили в номере,где через стенку туалет,но было такое ощущение,что туалет прямо в комнате и слышно все,до любого вздоха,это не для слабонервных,поверьте!переселили в отдельно стоящий сарайчик,я его называла дом рыбака,минимум удобств,но зато не слышно ,как гости в туалет ходят,из минусов хостела-идти от основной дороги оч далеко и в горку всю дорогу,минут 15-20,очень немало,даже асфальт заканчивается за 30метров до хостела(((нет интернета,связи(местный билайн не работал,не было сигнала),тв программ (только дивиди проигрыватели в номере в основном доме,не в сарайчике,там вообще тв нет),нет места,куда и на что повесить одежду в номерах, нет напора в душе,голову промыть невозможно,в душевых,туалетах,номерах ГРЯЗНО!Господа владельцы проверяйте чистоту,это же элементарно,к остальному претензий нет,бюджетный хостел за небольшие деньги,из плюсов-приветливый персонал,природа вокруг,удобные матрацы,на кухне есть сахар,соль,чай и кто что оставил-рис,макароны и пр.,из посуды тоже все есть,на втором этаже оч маленький холодильник (на втором 8 кроватей)то есть для 8 человек,где не горит свет.Дом деревянный,большой,просторный,светлый,с большой кухней-гостиной на первом этаже номер для 4х человек,и маленькой на втором,3 туалета и 2 душа,вообщем,дача в частном секторе,приспособленная для массового проживания,территория вокруг дома минимально ухожена,есть баня,за отдельную плату,не пользовались и прокат велосипедов 500руб за полдня,подводя итоги:один из худших хостелов,в которых мне удалось побывать(примерно останавливалась в 15 в России и за граниицей),не рекомендую,если вы не ищите экстрима и необычного некомфортного проживания к которому привыкли дома и в др местах отдыха.Выбирала сие место по отзывам на трипадвизоре,и очень удивилась,побывав там,половина отзывов про чистоту,чудесный дом не подтверждаю!Природа,воздух,Байкал-да,великолепны несомненно,но это к хостелу отношения особо не имеет же!Но озеро неповторимо и незабываемо,про хостел Байкалер уже забыла,а Байкал в моем...
