The Bed & Breakfast BRAVO here in Yakutsk, Russian Siberia, is one excellent Hostel / Bed & Breakfast.||||I had a bit of trouble finding the property. A friend, who lives here in Yakutsk, drove me to the (I now know in 20-20 hindsight) correct street and to the correct building BUT there are NO prominent exterior markings for the Bed & Breakfast BRAVO. None. Zero. Zip. De Nada. NO signs or other exterior identifications. So we drove away. ||||My friend did some online research and found a phone number for the Bed & Breakfast BRAVO and, with their explicit directions, we returned to the precise location we had just visited. Now knowing where to go and what to do, we knew what buttons to push on the door opening device and in we went.||||The staff are absolutely superb, they are beyond excellent. English was no issue. The property is immaculate and comfortable and welcoming. The rooms are clean, neat, spartan, and have a mini-refrigerator and other necessities. The rest rooms are equally spartan and excellent.||||You cannot go too far wrong staying here at the Bed &...

Nothing special but also not generally bad.||||* It is indeed hard to find, but our taxidriver called the hotel and directly drove us to the location without problems.||* The rooms and showers are OK, we had a lot of "stuff" on the balkony - but as we just were there for a few hours it did not matter.||* Internet was also fine and reliable.||* As we leaved very early, the girl from the reception prepared some sandwich for us, which was nice. But it seems the breakfast is rather simple, anyways - we can not say.||||* An annoying fact was the obligatory registration for 500Rub per person. I personally consider this as hidden cost. Without it, the price-performance would be OK. So I'd reconsider this.||||Coming back to Yakutsk I'd take alternatives into consideration because of the registration issue. But in general...
Read moreOn a recent visit to Yakutsk we tried to book at a well known hotel. That (as most of the other hotels) was booked out. Somehow we ended up booking at Bravo! This is a small accommodation on top of an apartment block. The street and entrance are nothing flash... typical soviet era. The accommodation itself is secure, clean and quiet. We found the hostesses spoke great English and were most helpful. We had a very early departure and surprised us by being up early and getting coffee and food ready for us before we left. Bravo! is not in the centre of the city so it is a car ride to any business or attraction however there are some restaurants within a block. We would stay there again in preference to one of the larger and less friendly hotels...
