Mantis Kivu Marina Bay has to be one of the most serene hotels i have visited.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by a very kind gentleman called Emile (porter) who was kind enough to give us a tour of the hotel.
Upon entry you find a very neat and clean lobby area with great receptionists.
The rooms my oh my, the family room is immaculate and very spacious and so are the beds and i loved the wood flooring and the view from our balcony.
When it comes to amenities and restaurants, we appreciated the fact that their menu is on - screen and you get to pick what you’d like and have the option for room service which was pleasant.
The food was beyond finger licking thanks to the amazing Chef Vincent and his team . Our favorite had to be their juicy beef burgers and perfectly cooked fish fillet fresh from the lake.
We also enjoyed their breakfast buffet and great service by our very jovial waiter By the name Musafiri Claude who always ensured we were attended to and enjoying our meals.
The icing on this cake (stay) had to be the breathtaking scenery and the greatest view of lake Kivu and the surrounding islands whilst chilling by the poolside.
We surely enjoyed our stay and will definitely be...
Read moreThis Hotel is simply amazing! You will remember your stay long after you have left!!! From the moment you are welcomed at the entrance until you leave, the friendly manager (Bruce) and his just as friendly and skilled staff will ‘go the extra mile’ to ensure you feel at home. The views over the lake are truly breathtaking and you can’t help feeling at rest in this tranquil and relaxing environment. Make sure you do not miss sunset over the lake! The rooms are just as beautiful and spacious. Also spotless clean and very neat. The restaurant ‘La Vue’ offers a variety of drinks and meals at a good price. We tried various meals and were not disappointed at all. Not the mention the many choices you get at the breakfast buffet. The relaxed ambience of the bar was also very pleasant with a friendly bartender who made sure we are kept happy. Swimmingpool and gym are amazing and we also enjoyed making use of the sauna that are now available. I’ve even been pampered with a massage at the spa for a very good price. I would like to compliment the manager and his lovely wife for what they have achieved. You and your team surely knows the secret to great hospitality!! Be prepared to be treated...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night as it is just across the border from DRC and we weren't sure what time we would cross border. It is a large hotel that felt empty. The staff was welcoming, but there was some confusion. I had one booking that I cancelled and I had rebooked a new room for 2 people that I prepaid. I emailed beforehand to ensure I had 2 beds. I even confirmed at front desk. Instead, we were shown to a room with 1 bed. Lots of phone calls and a lot of confusion ensued. We were moved to a new room with 2 beds. I had to show proof of cancellation or I was being told I might be charged for not cancelling. Room itself was clean. There was a TV with USA/European channels. The beds were comfortable. However, the AC never really cooled the room down enough. Shower had good water pressure and hot water.
Massage services were very good and reasonably priced. Sauna was also OK.
Dinner was good and service was relatively quick compared to other countries nearby. Breakfast had a good selection of fruits and pastries and made-to-order eggs and crepes.
Wifi only worked in the room, but was a good speed.
Overall, prices are high...
