Mantis EPIC Hotel & Suites — Hotel in Nyagatare

I organized a two-day strategic retreat for a team of about 70 people at Epic Hotel in Q4 of 2024, and the experience exceeded all our expectations!

Location: Nestled in lush greenery with a serene, peaceful atmosphere, this hotel is a true escape from the hustle and bustle. Waking up to the sound of birds under a soft morning mist was nothing short of magical—an absolute treat for the senses!

Conference & Event Management: From start to finish, the on-ground team was incredibly helpful and hospitable. A special shout-out to the F&B Manager, Mr. Chance, he was the true MVP! He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly. The team’s flexibility with menu options was particularly impressive, accommodating the diverse dietary needs of our group with ease.

To top it all off, they organized an incredible evening celebration for us, complete with a BBQ dinner, karaoke, and a live band. It was the perfect way to unwind after two days of intensive work!

Leisure & Activities: One of the most exciting new additions since my last visit a few years back, was the range of leisure and sports activities on offer. Our guests had the chance to take part in early morning bike rides, scenic hikes, and relaxing evening yoga sessions—all organized through the hotel. This was a fantastic way to add an element of wellness and recreation to our retreat!

Considerations & Areas for Improvement: Given the hotel's upcountry location, some food items and drinks were not always readily available, but Chance handled this professionally, keeping us informed and adjusting accordingly.

The only area that could use improvement is the front office team’s responsiveness via email—they could take a more proactive approach in communication. That said, the overall experience was outstanding, and the feedback from our entire group was overwhelmingly positive!

This place is awesome, it deserved a 5* but their spa hasn't started yet. Beautiful location, the food is ok (that's the only thing which wasn't perfect), rooms(superior room) are spacious, well decorated with beautiful views over the well maintained lawn. This hotel is very kid friendly with a kid pool and kid playroom with lots of games for the young ones as well as the teenagers (Xbox, etc). And i want to give thanks to the all team for their support while my kid was sick. A special thanks to Lambert, the security manager who took us to the hospital and stayed with us till we left...
