We stayed here the last week in April for an anniversary trip for my husband and I, paying very premium rates. I tend to favor hotels that are more intimate and don’t cater to corporate groups. I was shocked to find out upon arrival that FS Nevis is a hotel that does a lot of corporate business during the high season like we were in. It’s 2 planes and a boat to get to so not easy and not a big conference hotel. But i guess it is? If I had known this I might not have went. The week we were there over 90% of the hotel was with an insurance group and it was us and a few other families at most not with that company. The large group affected us in 3 ways: ||* Most nights for dinner only 1 restaurant was available to eat, the others closed or being taken over by the group. Huge bummer. When in those restaurants we were sometimes the only people eating so it felt weird. At breakfast it was all corporate people with badges hustling and bustling and I felt I was at a work conference and not a relaxing resort. |* We could not do excursions (either sunset sail or a snorkeling trip) because FS requires 6 minimum and the hotel was essentially empty of leisure travelers.|When the group members were poolside, it changed the dynamic. The clientele who can afford a FS is different than those staying for free and they treated it like a work party and not a luxury stay. One guy was smoking a cigar despite it being a non-smoking hotel, and packs of coworkers hung out in the pool drinking and cheering. |The adult pool was closed for one day for said group, and another day was not usable due to the workers setting up for the event the next day. ||I found out later that from February-June the FS Nevis is mostly filled with groups, so if you plan to go during that time, buyer beware. For the high prices we were paying I don’t want to be in convinced by a corporate takeover, and in some cases we were.||With that said, here is how I would rate the rest of the property and stay:||Arrivals: B|FS has to down to a science to pick you up at St Kitts airport, drive you 20 mins to the boat and then whisk you to the dock where FS staff is waiting to take you directly to your room with luggage to follow. No need to go to front desk to check in. My only small gripe is we don’t check luggage, but had to wait 45 mins in the van for all the other families to come out to go to the dock. The vans wait for everyone so you can only go as fast as the slowest family. This was a bit annoying as I don’t love waiting after a long day of travel. ||Room: A|We booked an ocean front but were upgraded to a HUGE suite bigger than my condo which was lovely and unexpected. ||Housekeeping: A|Came early every day and did a fantastic job. Kudos to the team.||Staff friendliness: A|Everyone we encountered was super friendly, helpful, and got to know us by name. Each day the pool team greeted us and was always there when you needed something. ||Restaurants: B+|We are not big fish eaters so take our food review with a grain of salt since that is the majority of the menu in most restaurants. . Breakfast was great (ordering off the menu is cheaper than the buffet but portions are still huge), poolside lunches were also good. We liked Mango especially for the nice sea atmosphere. Esquilinia we were not a fan of, we just didn’t think the food was all that great.||Pool/Beach: A|They have 3 pools, 1 for adults, 2 that allow kids with one of those clearly catering to children. The pool temp was perfect. Refreshingly cool but not cold. Between the 3 pools and the Long Beach with chairs everywhere, they will not run out of space and you won’t have to fight for a chair anywhere. ||Activities: C-|As mentioned, we couldn’t take advantage of much due to the groups. We did get a taxi with tour driver to take us around the island which was a good morning. You can grab that right at the front entrance.||Spa: A|I went twice and almost went a third time my massages were so good. The treatment rooms are in these little Caribbean huts dotted along the spa property and they have an outdoor cold plunge pool and a heated pool. Very relaxing to sit and stare at the mountain. ||Would I recommend the FS Nevis for a couples or family vacation? yes, but I would find out first if groups are there and what % of the...
Read moreWhere do I start? Best vacation ever!! From the welcome greeting by Nitesh and his welcome crew, upon arrival, to the exit, the Four Seasons Nevis has thought of everything. You will never have nor want for anything, during your stay. Every single staff member is amazing and went above and beyond. As well as remembered and addressed you by name down to the housekeeping staff. They made us feel like our family were the only ones on the resort. They treated us like royalty. They did everything and will do everything to ensure your stay is amazing. They never said “no” to any request we made.
SIDE NOTE: DO NOT go by any of the bad reviews you may read regarding this resort. Yes, there are mandates in place from the government of St Kitts and Nevis due to COVID-19 but these measures have been put in place for our own safety. There are a few hoops that must be jumped to get to this paradise island and they are well worth it. If anyone has placed a negative comment, I can honestly say they really have other issues. Now back to my review... There are a few indoor restaurants that are closed due to the pandemic but the resort has more than made up for these minor technicalities. The grounds are meticulously kept and the pools and beaches are serene. All of the staff treat you like family and the pool staff is the best (Kisha, Debbie, Shannel, Adicia, Roxanne, Naomi, Nabrisca, Breta) forgive me if I left anyone out. They all went above and beyond to make sure that you never have a need nor want for anything. Special shout out to all of them who made my daughters 2nd birthday like a scene from a movie. Also, extra special shout out to Tamerelle (Gift Shop Keeper) who came on her day off to wish our daughter a happy birthday with an extra special birthday gift. Tamerelle made our stay so incredible and spoiled more than we could have imagined. She made us feel more welcome and at home than anywhere we have ever been. Also, you must do the monkey tour where your get to drive your own golf cart and see the moneys on the island. This was lead by our tour guide, Ritchie, who did a phenomenal job and made it really fun. We were lucky to see a family of 40+ monkeys as well as some donkeys. This tour will also take you to many breathtaking views on the island. So many magnificent photo opportunities! There were countless moments like these, several times a day that made this the greatest vacation we have ever taken. Might I add that we have been blessed to have visited many different, high end, resorts around the globe but the Four Seasons Nevis topped them all!! The kids club activities were something my older kids looked forward to every single day. Shout out to to Jonathan and Anastasia, from the kids club, who made our older kids experiences and memories amazing.
There is way too much for me to write as you must experience it for yourself. This island was recommended to us from friends that go every year and we are so glad we got to experience it. We met other families during our stay that come every year, and a few that have been coming for the last 20 years. Now we know why and understand... You have to live it to comprehend. Sitting here in the plane ride back, I am still taken aback from the hospitality and the family treatment we received. Nabrisca (from the pool staff) remembered from our conversation that I liked mangoes and brought me mangoes from her father’s mango tree the next day. It is memories and the thoughtfulness of these amazing Nevisians that will make it very difficult to go to any other resort or island. This will be our yearly destination from here on in. My daughter was crying and tearing up on the last day as she did not want to leave.
Thanks Four Seasons Nevis for giving us the experience of a lifetime and memories that will keep us...
Read moreAs a family of four (2 adults, 3yo toddler and 3mo infant) we recently spent 4 nights there over Presidents’ Day Weekend. Overall, I’m giving the resort 4.5 stars. Some items of note:||Babysitting service: Through the resort, we hired a babysitter for our infant and she was incredible. Her name was Clare and we hired her every day and even the morning of our departure. She took great care of our little one, including taking him out for walks and even putting him to sleep at night. It allowed us to fully enjoy meals, pool/beach time, and evenings. Highly recommend.||Kids club: Our toddler spent a good amount of time at the kids club. Was perfect for us that the minimum age is 3yo. They have a number of scheduled activities that the kids can partake in, and you can even have food delivered onsite for your child to eat. So in the mornings, we could put in a room service order before leaving the room, then her breakfast would arrive at the kids club soon after we got there.||Service: As expected for a Four Seasons, the service was top notch. They are extremely responsive, especially through the very convenient phone app. Given we were traveling with our newborn, they provided a number of essentials such as a crib, bottle warmer, bottle sanitizer, pack and play, brand new bottle scrubbers, and diaper pail - all of which were already set up in the room when we arrived.||Room: We stayed in an Ocean-Side Room, which is on the 1st floor (all buildings are 2 stories). Since you can’t really see the ocean from a 1st floor room, a Nevis Peak-View room probably would’ve worked just fine. Room was spacious enough to comfortably fit 4 adults (possible 5 if they let someone sleep on the chaise). This is just for illustrative purposes because I don’t believe this type of room can be reserved for 4 adults. The crib fit just fine in the room and the pack-and-play fit well in the bathroom. Our room had an outdoor seating area that gave us additional access to the resort.||Scenery/Views: It’s just beautiful everywhere you look, and we even had professional family photos done while we were there (we saw others doing the same). The resort architecture really has a lot of character.||Some considerations:||Gym: Way too small for a resort like this. Seen much better in basic hotel chains. It kind of looks like a makeshift/temporary set up. I didn’t ask but hopefully they’re building a proper gym suitable for a Four Seasons.||Beach: It’s kind of just OK. Not the resort’s fault obviously. Is what it is. Just know that it’s not fine white sand like you’ll find at say Four Seasons Anguilla.||Tennis: Very nice tennis courts with incredible views. I didn’t realize there were court fees (admittedly that’s on me). Regardless we played once. But on top of the fee, it’s $20pp to rent a racquet (not demo quality) and then a can of balls is $15. So next time, I’d bring my racquets for sure and perhaps even a can or two of balls if I have the luggage space. I know the Four Seasons isn’t cheap but I was still caught a bit off guard. Again, something I could’ve researched beforehand.||Laundry: Some reviews on here mentioned laundry facilities that guest could access. Must no longer be the case.||Overall we had a fantastic experience especially because of how kid friendly the resort is. Without the babysitter and the kids club, we just couldn’t have fully enjoyed the trip. Service was great as one would expect at the Four Seasons. Only thing truly making me take off half a...
