Hotel San Marino Idesign — Hotel in City of San Marino

We stayed here for one night in January 2023. We took a taxi from Rimini station at a cost of 55 euros (it took about 25-30 minutes). The hotel ordered us a taxi for the return trip, and that cost 60 euros.||||The hotel is quite quirky and unique with its "design" characteristic. For example, the lift lighted up with different colours, while in the room itself the walls around the bathroom were glass with light curtains. I appreciate that some people like that type of thing, but it wasn't really my style.||||The hotel is located about 2 km from the historic centre. We walked to the historic centre, which took about half an hour and was uphill. Walking back down was a lot easier. If you plan to arrive by bus, it might be a bit of a challenge walking to the hotel if you're carrying suitcases. However, there were plenty of buses on the route from the hotel to the centre, and I'm sure you could order a taxi. There is a laundrette right beside the hotel and a take-away place a few metres away. The Walter e Lella restaurant/bar is about 200 metres away. In the evening, we ate a pizza there and had a drink. It appeared to be a popular place, so it might be worth booking in advance. Other than that, it appeared that there was not much else around the hotel. It is in a mostly suburban setting, which makes it ok if you have a car, but on foot it's not all that convenient.||||The room itself was clean, although the glass surround and light curtains around the bathroom just wasn't my thing. If you need to get up in the middle of the night and need to turn a light on, that could disturb other people. I know that it's meant to be stylistic and part of the quirky nature of the hotel, but it affected privacy. Our room faced the street and we had absolutely no problem with noise. There was a small safe in the room and a TV which was not all that big.||||The breakfast buffet was good. There were no hot dishes, but just the usual cold selection: bread, pastries, cereals, ham, cheese, fruit, juice, croissants etc. The good thing is that they have a proper coffee machine and they made me the best cappuccino that I've had so far in Italy!||||All the staff members in the hotel were polite...

The hotel is located a bit down the hill from the old city. So it's a 15min steep uphill walk up to the old city of San Marino. But it was a quite interesting and nice walk. So didn't bother us too much.

The service and attention was very good indeed. Very personal and nice service. Seems to be family or private owned.

The hotel has an interesting design. The thing that makes me choose to give it 4 starts is that some areas of the hotel needs some light renovation. The table by the entrance, where it is perfect to sit watching the sunrise in the morning, is chipped and the chairs partly damaged. The flower boxes also peeling with paint.

The doors to the wardrobe and closets in the room were very squeaky and was not properly fitting anymore. So needed to use a bit of force to open and close. The curtains were a bit damaged.

The hotel has seen better days. Could need a bit of easy-to-do surface uplift in certain areas. But overall the price was very good. And I would stay again if going back to San Marino. The price was very good. And lot because of the very nice and personal welcome...

Als aller erstes muss ich sagen, das Hotel ist von außen sehr modern im Inneren ebenfalls. Das Personal ist absolut freundlich sehr zuvorkommend. Eine absolute Empfehlung kann ich aussprechen für das Hotel aus folgenden Gründen. Die Zimmer sind sehr sehr sauber luxuriös ausgestattet. Eine Aussicht in Richtung Meer oder in Richtung Berge. Eine Empfehlung von unserer Seite. Der Balkon ist zwar etwas schmal, aber eine Sitzmöglichkeit gibt es dort. Meist besteht das Ganze aus einem Tisch und zwei Stühle der leichte Lärm. Wir von unterhalb kommt. Aus den Restaurants den muss man leider ertragen ist aber auch meist nicht so schlimm. Was im übrigen auch empfehle, ist dort am Gehweg, wo man die Aussicht genießen kann, dort mal eine Pizza zu essen. Eine absolute Empfehlung sehr lecker und sehr preiswert im übrigen. Jetzt noch mal zu dem Hotel zurück. Ich muss sagen vom Personal her sehr sehr freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Auch das einchecken war sehr sehr einfach ohne Komplikationen. Was ich auch hervorragend möchte ist das Frühstück. Das Frühstück ist sehr sehr umfangreich und sehr gut organisiert aufgeteilt in bestimmten Bereichen Getränke Softdrinks kann es, was das Herz zu begehrt, was ich ein bisschen vermisst habe, sind auf Tomaten oder Gurken so etwas war da leider nicht zu finden. Warum und weshalb kann ich hier nicht beantworten. Für mich hat das Hotel trotzdem fünf Sterne verdient. Allein schon die ganzen Dinge die nebensächlich dazugehörenden waren einfach der Hammer. Wir hatten das Glück gehabt, dass wir das Zimmer weitaus günstiger bekommen haben, weil wir eigentlich woanders gebucht haben und da das untere Hotel leider voll war, hatten die eine Kooperation und Schwuppdiwupp war das ganze Zimmer. Also wir hatten zwei bestellt jedes Zimmer dann gute 100 € weniger. Das war natürlich schon ein Schnapper. Allein das Hotel schon kennen zu lernen, war für mich absolute richtige Weg auch mal Kundschaft zu bekommen, die sich das leisten können, aber sich nicht leisten wollten. Aber jetzt, wo ich weiß, dass dieses Hotel so toll ist, werden wir auf jeden Fall noch mal wiederkommen. Man muss auch sagen, hier gibt es nicht arg so viele tolle Hotels und dieses Hotel war gleich an der größten Sehenswürdigkeit. Man hatte auch hier ein Parkplatz erhalten gar nicht so teuer für ein Tag sechs Euro da muss ich sagen das hat sich gelohnt wir haben die Burg besichtigt. Wir haben alles besichtigen können, was wir wollten und heute war sogar noch einen Sondervesth was drei Tage lang geht. Da muss man wirklich sagen da hatten wir einfach nur Glück gehabt. Normalerweise ist das hier alles komplett voll ausgebucht aber ich kann jeden nur raten, wer in Italien ist. Sollte ich hier mal da gewesen sein nicht nur die Landschaft ist schön alles was hier geboten wird ist einfach rundrum. Super ich werde diesbezüglich nicht nur Fotos vom Hotel hinein nehmen, sondern auch mal von den Örtlichkeiten, damit sich jeder mal ne Vorstellung machen kann wie toll das einfach ist. Und ja wir werden auch mal das Restaurant abfotografieren, damit sie wissen, in welchem Restaurant wir dort waren. Man muss wirklich sagen, das Essen ist absolut gut gewesen und was ich noch hervorrufen muss.
