My family and I got the hotel booked at the last moment as the best available option at the moment of booking. The entire city was almost sold out because of the Eid holidays.||||I was happy to get a 'five star' (according to booking.com) at 600 SAR per night, I was quite skeptical though. The ratings and reviews made me confident while I had to cancel Mercure at the same destination because of atrocious reviews. Blue Inn turned out to be a Four-Star property, one of the first things I checked with them during check-in. ||||Check-in was smooth and Fast. Mr. Ramadan was gracious and pleasant and considered my request to place us on the top floors. Though I had inadvertently booked twin rooms, they were so pleased to change the room with a king bed without any inhibition although it's a very high-demand season. One of the perks of arriving early for check-in, I do this all the time whenever I'm on a pleasure trip. The lobby is compact, however, the reception looked a little congested with the way they arranged the lobby. No welcome drink. Untrained non-hospitality-friendly guards. ||||The sleep quality was very good. AC was smooth, although I felt a bit of a hiccup towards the end of the night, perhaps, humidity does it. Nothing worth complaining about. The carpet in the corridor and rooms are well maintained. The washroom is neat, a little improvement could have been done with a closed shower cubicle so that we could enjoy a dry washroom throughout. The towels were fresh and smooth. The quality of the toiletries could have been better with the same pricing if a cheaper packaging is considered, after all, it's disposable. ||||Their restaurant, The Roof, seemed notable in the mountain city with an amazing view. The food was surprisingly good, I must say very good considering the averaging pricing. It indeed is a very good strategy rather than spiking the price unprecedentedly like in most Saudi hotels where people ended up not even considering going to the restaurant. The chef knows what he's doing, however, a little attention to the minute details viz salt and spices would render the best. Also, the captains who take the order should have been more attentive to the details which would improve the experience very much. It was very courteous of them to offer us a complimentary cheesecake and Arabic coffee after the dinner when I gave them my feedback.||||The pool in the basement is adequate with lockers, changing rooms, a steam bath, and showers. However, the cold pool was a turn-off considering the mostly-cold weather conditions, it should have been a warm pool. The pool towels had an excruciating stench of chlorine and they were quite run-down. The lifeguard was seen one day as all. ||||The hotel has adequate gated private parking that is easily accessible, unlike some hotels where the basement parking is an exhausting affair. ||||The hotel's location is excellent, and many tourist spots viz Art Street is within walkable distance. 'Tolie' - a Turkish Restaurant within half a mile from the restaurant is a great place to enjoy your dinner with a beautiful view. Considering the ascents and curvy roads, and scarce parking it may be better to take a walk than take your car to the nearby attractions.
Blue Inn exceeded our expectations especially our room, which was super comfortable, clean, nicely scented (the hallways too), and really comfy pillows, bed, and duvets. I especially love the extra amenities of hair dryer, iron and ironing board, the bathrobes, coffee machine and kettle, which made our stay more cozy. It's centrally located and quite close to attractions. My husband and I loved the varied, delicious breakfast spread, as well as the delicious and generous portions of The Roof restaurant on the 9th floor, which has an open balcony and beautiful view of the city. We also liked the clean gym and pool, with well-maintained equipment. Overall, a very pleasant stay. We would like to give some friendly suggestions in terms of providing guests with information on city attractions. We asked information about the opening hours of certain tourist attractions and also about the city tour bus (which we read about on the Internet) but the staff don't seem to be aware of its existence. We also asked if they could provide us with information on tour agencies because we wanted to book some private tours outside the city. It would be great if Blue Inn will have some brochures or maps for interesting places to visit, as well as contacts with some recommended/credible tour companies in the future, especially during the peak tourist season. But overall, we loved our stay at Blue Inn and will definitely stay there again, as well as recommend to friends.
Most recently, I again stayed with my family at this hotel. And I want to note that positive changes are visible since the last visit. Hotel rooms come with irons and ironing boards! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼This, of course, pleasantly surprised, because a year ago at the hotel no one could understand what iron is. 😃Finally, a restaurant opened where you can have breakfast, decently enough, but still not a 5-star hotel. The hotel staff began to understand English, which facilitates understanding. It was a pleasant experience.
Review a year ago:
General impressions of the hotel are positive. But the hotel does not look like a five-star, although you can take into account the fact that this is a provincial hotel and not to judge strictly. At the time of stay at the hotel the restaurant was under reconstruction, and it was not possible to have breakfast at the hotel or order food in the room, of course, these services are very important, especially when people are traveling with children. The hotel room Junior Suite is cute, but cramped. The modern interior creates a cozy atmosphere and is pleasant to stay in room. Unfortunately, not many staff understood English language, what is complicated the mutual understanding. Also, some employees did not speak even Arabic, which was very funny! I recommend staying at this hotel, but take an iron from home with you! 😂😂😂
