Ramada by Wyndham Dammam — Hotel in Eastern Province

The only good thing about the hotel is its spacious rooms and it's location. Had it been not the liking for the rooms, I would have given no star. Pool is always surrounded with families and ladies sitting there which makes it others to feel uncomfortable to use it. Gym is as good as not having it and I wonder why they still keep it functional. Most of the equipments in the gym are in the appalling state and may not be safe to use it. Weights are not sufficient, bars doesn't have clips to hold the weight plates (very dangerous) machines are not maintained properly, weight machine gives wrong reading.. It's as good as not having the gym and it's a shame to allow having such gym open for the guests. Breakfast doesn't have much of options and the the chef on the live counter (for eggs etc) absolutely doesn't understand what the other person want his eggs to be prepared. A 2 star hotel in India has better buffet in breakfast. An icing on the top is the staff. First time in my life I have come across a hotel where the operator, front desk, housekeeping etc doesn't pick up the phone and others just hung up the phone without answering it.. That too during the day time!!!! Even to ask a bottle of water after trying for end number of times on the phone, I had to go down at reception asking for water. Absolutely unprofessional and horrible service. Otherwise the rooms are nice but the rooms on the first floor with bedroom towards the road side are too noisy. U can clearly hear the vehicles passing by and could be a big disturabance for the light sleepers... I booked a room through Rehlat app and after payment I wanted to confirm my booking details and called the hotel several times for atleast two days. The hotel never answered my call. when I tried to check in directly they did not have my details to check in to the hotel.They said it will be ready a little later and asked me to come after sometime. After 8 hours when I tried to check in again they told me still they did not receive my details but they did get a booking reference under my name. Customer service was not professional especially the manager in charge. They waited 8 hours to let me know that I will not be allowed to check in to the room. Horrible service by the hotel and their staff. They had enough time to call the relevant agent and check with the details which they did not and expected me to do that when I went back to the hotel.I went with my family including 2 small kids. Today, I went to Ramada for the seimming poolaccess + meal offer they had. I took my family and went to the hotel, and up to the swimming pool. First thing that shocked us was how filthy the pool was. There was stuff floating in it, and a lot of garbage on the pool floor. The day was done for us because we came especially so that my son can pay in the pool. So I decided to just order my meal and leave because even the tables were disgusting. I asked for the food to be take away. When I received the food, I got my second shock, the food was wrapped in foil. JUST FOIL! No plastic plate or paper plate, no box, no fork, no spoon, no napkins. Bear in mind I ordered a pizza and a meal of fried shrimp. The pizza was curled up in foil, and same for the shrimp meal, the shrimp, salad and fries on top of each other in the foil ball.
