BEST PLUS AURORA Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Olaya

Bit of a remote location but primarily it is a 1 night stop airport hotel so no issues.

Clean and comfortable though a small bedroom. Bedding and bed were good

The light switching system is illogical and complicated. No way to understand it except for pressing all the buttons until you get the effect you desired

AC also not a logical controller and took excessive effort to use. I notice a slight dusty smell in the room which suggests there is a filtration issue - this irritates my nose and I needed to take an anti-allergy anti-histamine tablet

In the morning the curtains would not open as clipped together at the top so I had to stand on a table to unclip them

Breakfast was included. A set menu as is common these days. Choice of Arabic or American. I chose the American. Eggs were cold on a cold plate. Beef bacon and sausage was cold and uninspiring. Fruit was ok but tasteless. To be honest, it was pretty poor and the plastic cutlery was very flimsy.

Gym is OK and pool area is very nice to look at but cold. Too cold for me to enjoy so it was a waste of time. Who wants to relax in a cold swimming pool?

I booked through Trip.com agent and had a very bad experience with this hotel. There was construction next to the hotel that was so loud that I couldn't sleep. The construction started at 6:00 AM. The construction was not announced in advance. When I informed them that it was very loud and could be heard in the room, I had to ask for it several times before they would change the room for me. I couldn't sleep. The hotel changed the room I booked to a non-smoking room and it was a large room, but I got a smoking room. The room was still noisy, but less than the first room. I complained to the hotel and the hotel informed me that I could get a refund for 1 night and then informed me again that I couldn't get a refund and had to sleep more. I don't think the hotel would understand because I checked out before they let me sleep more. It was very bad service. There was nothing for breakfast, not suitable for a 4-star hotel.
