The Jewel of the Crown Prince's Redsea Project: Desert Rock An Unforgettable Stay
Our recent three-day stay at Desert Rock was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, our family—my wife, son, and I—felt an incredible sense of awe and comfort. The entire team provided a truly world-class experience that exceeded all our expectations.
A Warm Welcome
We had just come from Shebara, one of the most beautiful, if not the best beach resort in the world, and were prepared to feel a bit down and sad. However, that was not the case! The moment we stepped out of the car, we were warmly greeted by Mr. Charles, whose warm welcome instantly uplifted us. The resort itself looked surreal and magical, with an energy that was truly on another level and another world! If Shebara was a perfect 200%, Desert Rock was far beyond that.
Exceptional Staff & Service
The experience, the dedication, the professionalism and the positive, loving energy of the entire Desert Rock team (even those who responded through my emails) were evident throughout our stay. We were consistently impressed by the attentiveness and friendliness of every staff member we encountered. We apologize for not remembering all the names of those on duty last September 2 to 4, but we would like to highlight the individuals (whose names I recall) who went above and beyond:
Mr. Rahul: Our "guardian angel" for three days. His punctuality, politeness, and readiness to help made our stay smooth and stress-free. He drove us around the resort, made reservations, got the things we needed and of course became our good friend even after our trip was over. He is a true asset for Desert Rock.
Mr. Yaminkiki: Provided us with a seamless check-in and an excellent, detailed itinerary.
Mr. Nestor (at Mica Bar): Was incredibly kind and attentive.
Mr. Michael and the team at Basalt: Made us feel so welcome. He is a great conversationalist!
The staff at Nyra: The team on duty for dinner on September 2 made our meal a wonderful experience.
The staff on duty at The Observatory last September 3 afternoon: thank you for setting the mood with your awesome sunset play list! We felt like having one of the best sunset moments of our lives!
The Room Service Team: A special thank you to Mr. Sebastian, Chef Bara, Mr. Anjit, and Mr. Muhammad for making our special cave dinner on September 3 and floating breakfast on September 4 truly unforgettable.
Zipline and Akun Team
My zipline experience on September 3 was a highlight, thanks to the wonderful Akun team: Mr. Grom (or Brom?), Mr. Dom, Mr. Abdul, and Ms. Malika. They ensured the process was smooth and safe, and they even shared informative geology history about Desert Rock.
Ms. Malika was so kind and attentive, and I was so impressed by her willingness to wait just to film my zipline experience from the ground and her great off-road driving skills as she drove me back to the hotel. She is a great ambassador for Akun.
The View from Our Room
We have seen YouTube videos of Desert Rock with views from a cave room and other cliff hanging rooms, but the view from Sabah 303, with a part of the cliff seen inside the room, is just... wow, wow, wow... WOW! It just blew our minds! The view felt like being in the best luxury resort on planet Mars! You feel this great uplifting energy just by standing there just absorbing everthing you see!
Overall Experience
The positive energy of the staff, the delicious food at every restaurant, and the pristine smell and cleanliness of the entire resort made our stay truly exceptional. It is unanimous: Desert Rock is the BEST resort for us, the Diamond in the Arabian Desert, the one resort we would like to come back to many times!
