I was busy so my husband takes the credit for finding this gem. Lac Rose is beautiful and we are told that September is not the best time to be here. The air is pure, I had become used to the Dakar pollution, the property a work of love, the family friendly and polite and a Frenchman, Pierre, willing to make a vegetarian meal for us. The meal was wonderful, simple and here in Senegal quite a treat, Pierre even checked that we would eat eggs (we do). We loved the pool, both the sound of the water running from the rocky cascade and the warmth of the water was very relaxing. We were in "hut"two, the fan was more than adequate, the storm on Friday night woke my husband but the roof didn't leak at all. We stayed there for 3 days and with our 5 yr old daughter; and she did not want to go "home" :) ||- Wonderful owners, Daba & Pierre-Yves are just wonderful! ||- Pure fresh air, unlike in Dakar||- Best food ever: Full plates and worst even paying some more compared to other restaurants in Dakar or other nearby hotels. ||- Daba helped us get a Camel ride around the lac, it was fantastic!!!...well at least for my daughter and me, my wife is not a big fan...
Read moreWe loved our stay here. The property is beautiful with individual casitas surrounded by flower and tree-line paths. There is a pretty pool in the center next to the restaurant and bar. There is also a great kids' play area with swings and a fort. The owners are wonderful and kind and it's a short few minute walk down to the lake.
