Can't vouch for the rooms as we were booked elsewhere, but the food, sweet mother of pearl, the food! The classically-trained chef knocked out an impeccable sauce au poivre, one of the absolute best I've ever tasted, and my wife's fish was equally delicious. I actually teared up a bit while eating it. I mean, the place looked quite fancy, but it wasn't nutso expensive, and you just never know; but even now I am drooling a bit just thinking about that sauce. (The vegetables were cooked to perfection too, and yeah the steak was OK, cooked as I ordered, on the rare side of medium rare). It was a quiet night (we literally were the only customers) which is just a shame, the staff deserve a wider audience. If you are ANYWHERE NEAR the area, do go eat...

Room accommadation-awful. Bed sheets smell awful. We rented family room for four people, the fourth bed was actually a concrete sitting area with very thin mattress. No fan in the room. Air condition did not work as no electricity at night.||Restaurant-Good-main dishes very good, dessert not really. Slow service, but accommodating. ||Ambiance-very calm. ||Sitting area on the terrace near restaurant - sofas dirty. ||I picked this hotel because of the comments left by others, but we were disappointed. I would defenately recommend La source aux lamantins for anybody! Especially for people who love peace, nature and birds. It is possible to take a piroque-trip to one of worlds best birdwatching areas, you can already see the first pelicans of reserve du saloum from the terrace. I spent whole day taking photographs of colourful birds, most of them I took while sitting on the terrace of our own cottage! I loved the African-style-decoration, tasteful and - just perfect! And two days was defenately enough as there was a great biblioteque in the hotel for nature-lovers! Service was just excellent, food was delicious, cook was perfect, we felt like princesses!! Ann-Katherine was very very kind and helpful and in every turn wanted to make sure our stay is as pleasant as possible. Yövyimme omassa mökissä omassa rauhassa, uiskentelimme lämpimässä vedessä rantalaiturilta, kokki tuli henkilökohtaisesti räätälöimään menun. Mutta se luonto - suomalaiselle lintujen paljous oli hämmästyttävää, saatoin ottaa oman mökin terassilta kuvia kolibrista, tukaanista, niilin varaanista. Aamu-usvan hälvetessä vastarannalla häämötti pelikaaneja ja "saaristo" jonka seassa piroque-veneellä saattoi nähdä valtavan määrän eri lintulajeja. Kaiken kaikkiaan, tähän paikkaan haluaisin vielä...
