Le Papayer EcoLodge — Hotel in Arrondissement de Kabrousse

In our view a much much more basic place than can be expected for the price: it's a bit run down, we were put in a room without a window / any natural light, not too well maintained, warm water should work but in practice you'll have a cold shower...it's not extremely terrible but for the price (and given the presentation) it should be a lot better.

Owner is mediocre at best in terms of service. For example, if he doesn't feel like it he won't arrange transport and you're essentially stuck in a pretty remote place. Similarly, when we signaled that our room without natural light is not great, we couldn't move to another room because they were not prepared...but they were available & preparing is not that hard if you're service-oriented.

Breakfast very simple without fruits, eggs, or similar which is also more basic than can be expected for the price.

If you like to be in a remote place, the location is quite good and beautiful, the beach is right there which is good, but for us the negatives outweigh the positives by a lot.

We stayed with Laurent and Fanta at Le Papayer in November 2018. Our stay was incredible! Laurent and his team know the region very well. Laurent and Assan took us on his 4x4 to a incredible day trip to Mlomp and Pointe Saint Georges. This day trip was definitely the highlight of our stay in Casamance. I highly recommend staying with them if you visit Casamance and are interested in getting to know more than just Cape Skirring (there's much more than that to get to know in the region!). Aside from that, Laurent, Fanta and Assan are so kind and interesting to get to know! And Fanta is a great cook! We would not have enjoyed Casamance as we did without...

Dieser Ort ist Scam! Der eine Stern ist ausdrücklich nur für die Angestellten, die sich bemühten alles zu retten. Er wurde uns angeboten als ein Ort, an dem wir als Gruppe unter uns sind mit eigener Küche, Internet etc. Dem war nicht so. In unserem Haus wohnte eine Frau mit uns, die Küche war uns verboten. Nach Beschwerden zog die Frau, offenbar eine Angestellte aus. Nicht ohne dass uns der Besitzer moralisch deswegen unter Druck setzen wollte. Wir mussten für alles extra bezahlen. Sogar für Kaffee und Wasser. Das Frühstück z.B. war sogar für Europa teuer. Ein halbes Baguette, ein paar angefangene Marmeladen. Das war's. Ei wurde uns explizit verwehrt. Wir waren als Gruppe zu sechst unterwegs. Versprochen war schnelles Internet und ausreichend Datenvolumen. Wir bekamen pro Tag 3GB zugestanden und lahmes Internet. Am zweiten Tag wurde uns das Internet abgeschaltet, weil wir den falschen Vibe hätten. Der Besitzer kam immer wieder zu uns und lamentierte über alles bei Zigarettenqualm. Das einzige Eolodgige war Solarstrom auf dem Dach. Sonst nix. Dafür jede Menge verbauter Beton. Der Ort ist wunderbar und auch wunderbar abgelegen, wir kamen ohne den Besitzer nicht wieder fort, was er nutzte um uns unter...
