Les Alizes Beach Resort — Hotel in Arrondissement de Kabrousse

I spent five nights here as a solo traveler in February 2015. I was looking for a peaceful and beautiful place with excellent food and a nice beach and this is exactly what I found at Les Alizes. The staff were incredibly genuine and warm and helped me with small requests on a number of occasions (eg sending someone to town to buy an electrical adapter to fit my plugs). I passed my days reading, running along the beach, lying in hammocks, catching waves in the surf and eating really fresh and delicious food. The purpose of my trip was really to rest so I did very little exploring of the surrounding area and ate all my meals at Les Alizes. The resort is probably more designed for groups, but never once did I feel uncomfortable as a solo guest. Quite the opposite in fact. ||||Barbara (her husband was out of town when I visited) and her team are excellent and even helped me purchase my Senegal Airlines tickets as I couldn't pay for them online. The resort is very classy but not at all pretentious. ||||Les Alizes is on quite a big property and very well kept. It was pretty quiet when I visited but I think even when full there would be space for everyone. ||||I recommend bringing a light sweater or layer as the wind (Les Alizes) can be brisk sometimes. ||||I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would be happy to return or recommend whole-heartedly...

I love this place.||Hope and I had just concluded the first half of our holiday at Kololi in the Gambia. So at least we had an idea of what to expect of beaches in the Senegambia. ||From there were driven (by the bus sent from Les Alizes) to the Beach Resort.||This holiday plan wasn't the usual adventurous hopping Hope and I did. It was meant to be quiet, relaxing, just enjoying the beauty of sunsets...||Les Alizes fulfilled that in the most enjoyable way: friendly staff who would meet you at the entrance into the resort, lovely rooms (nah apartments actually) with two balconies with the best of views of the beach, fine dining at a restaurant with a very good chef, classic movie watching (some are in French though), evening dips at an infinity pool with a view of the beach....||Hmmm....The Les Alizes was simply Aaamaaazing!||We enjoyed every minute of...

Wie op zoek is naar een stukje paradijs op aarde hoeft niet verder te zoeken: welkom in “Beach Resort Les Alizés” in Cap Skirring – Senegal. De eigenaars en alle medewerkers van het resort hebben maar één doel voor ogen en dat is er voor te zorgen dat alles perfect verloopt voor de aanwezige toeristen. Iets waar ze wat ons betreft volledig in slagen.||||De locatie is ronduit fenomenaal: zon, zee en een wit privéstrand natuurlijk. Maar daar houdt het zeker niet op: de rust, het prachtige uitgestrekte domein, het mooie zwembad, de perfecte en uiterst vriendelijke service, de bloemen en planten en de palmbomen. En midden daarin de prachtige en zeer luxueus ingerichte villa’s. Allemaal top! ||||Er is keuze uit twee restaurants: een restaurant ter hoogte van de villa’s net naast het prachtige zwembad. Of een restaurant ter hoogte van het strand. Wat je voorkeur ook heeft, de keuken vonden wij zeer geraffineerd en gevarieerd. Het gebruik van lokale verse (vis)producten in combinatie met biologisch geteelde groeten uit de eigen tuin vonden wij elke dag opnieuw fantastisch. Om nog maar te zwijgen van de enorme keuze aan wijnen: rosé, wit of rood. De eigenaar (Jean-Paul) staat steeds klaar met zijn advies. Een passie, dat zie je duidelijk. Voor de liefhebbers is er trouwens ook een zeer ruime keuze aan likeuren en sigaren. Geen lokale producten maar de gekende topmerken! De vriendelijkheid van de medewerkers valt ook nu weer op.||||Aan activiteiten hebben we zeker geen tekort gehad tijdens ons verblijf: zwemmen, golven (op wandelafstand), kajak, petanque, tafeltennis, surfen, quad of wandelen. De uren die wij wandelend op het strand met de voeten in het warme zeewater hebben doorgebracht zijn bijna niet te tellen … Ook aan excursies geen gebrek: met de 4x4, met de boot of te voet. Volgens ons de perfecte manier om de schoonheid van de natuur in Casamance van dichtbij mee te maken. De vriendelijkheid van de lokale bevolking met hun eeuwige glimlach zullen we niet makkelijk vergeten. Achteraf kan je wat luieren aan het strand of zwembad. Zeker aan te raden is een massage aan de rand van het strand.||||Een week vonden wij te kort. Volgend jaar twee weken....
