|I'm not giving a way 5 stars easily, but I got to say this was a no brainer. We stayed 2 nights in the little paradise called Les Amarantes. On arrival Alain & Nadine greeted us warmly. We only speak little French, and they only speak a little English but we managed quite well to understand one another. As we were hungry from travelling, we asked for a restaurant. Alain & Nadine not only told us a good one, they went with us to the same place and because we didn't fit in 1 car (I was with 4 friends) they asked the owner of the restaurant to pick us up. What a service. |Regarding their 'campement': The property isn't very large, but because they only have a few rooms, they can give all the attention to their guests. In order to describe the accomodation, I'll start with the outside. The patio with pool and garden are very well kept. Most of it (but not all) lies in the shadows which is very nice since the average temperature during our stay was 35 degrees celcius.|The rooms themselves were very clean, nicely decorated (we loved the folded towels in the theme of the room) and very well finished. Especially for Senegalese standards.|During our short stay, the rooms were properly cleaned (not very common in Senegal). |Tip 1: the beach is a 2 min walk, and a clean beach (from a little restaurant) is a 5 min stroll over the beach.|Tip 2: we thoroughly enjoyed the visit to the Destillery Warang, were we tasted different Fruit Liquor.|Tip 3: ask for the Petanque set. We did enjoy ourselves, although a few locals did wonder what the hell we were doing :)||Overal conclusion: in this price range you're not going to find a better place in the area of Warang/M'bour, especially run by such warm people. Thanks...
Read moreLes Amarantes is like an oasis in the middle of the dust desert, in the outskirts of Warang (Ouoran) village, very close to the ocean. The owners are a nice French couple that does not speak English very well but ready to help you any moment. We stayed in room 3, where the theme was "giraffe". I guess, in other rooms they have different themes. In our room I found 5 different pictures and wooden statues of giraffes. The place is quite, cozy and clean. We had an AC, safe box and a mosquito net in the room. In the morning and evening, you can lie on a sunbed at the vicinity of pool and enjoy life. The breakfast is not included in the room rate but for 4-5$ you can get fresh bread with different types of jam, omelette/scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. We had to leave very early in the morning but it was not an issue for the owners, they woke up before us and...
Read moreA really lovely little place to stay in Warang village. We were surprised how clean, functioning, beautiful the whole place was and the owners are really warmhearted couple who took care of us like we were their own family! There is only four rooms and not many guests and that is why you will receive really personal attention. There is a small pool and a lovely sitting area around it, little breakfast area and possibility to order dinner as well. The beach is 2 minutes walk away and there are small, nice restaurants nearby. There are quiet sandy roads to walk and of course the long, quiet beach for walks and swims. This is a perfect place to relax and explore rural Senegal! We highly recommend Les Amarantes! And thank you so much Nadine and Alain, we had really...
