Villa Ocean — Hotel in Dakar

Got this property booked on booking.com with amazing reviews but our stay proved terribly otherwise. The property owner Aicha seemingly encoraged unmerited excellent reviews. As a senior contributor of tripadvisor, I will like people to rely more on experienced reviewers.||||We came in late at night and the property owner left for the United States the following morning. We were left in the hands of Abdoulie who does not speak or understand a word of English and this was a nightmare! The water pressure was low, the noise from the road was sickening even till early in the morning. ||||We stayed 4 nights without a functional television and despite complaints to the guy, nothing was done to rectify the problem. The property is far from the city centre but a bit closer to the airport. ||||Our honest review on booking.com warranted series of insults and very abusive emails from Aicha who thought a 6/10 rating would have made her happy and not 4.6 we gave the property...

I rated this hotel based on service and affordable price. There are some strong points and points for improvement. |Strong points:|- very clean rooms and the whole hotel|- quiet place|- beautiful view|- polite staff even though only owner speaks English|- very close is surfing area and beach is great for jogging and exercise|- there is great bakery/ fast food for breakfast and great point of direction for taxis to bring you back close to hotel|- close to airport, a bit far from the city center||Improvement points:|- there is no sign on hotel so it is difficult to find it first time|- water pressure sometimes is low|- Internet sometimes blocks (but this is true for whole Dakar)||There is one thing to have in mind if you've never been close to open ocean. You are close to the ocean, the waves sound like distant highway so it was strange to me at first day but later I got to enjoy it every evening.|We enjoyed our days...

Every thing is basic. Also the price.||Nice friendly and helpfull, owner and working people.||Room is small and the badroom on the second floor hasn't not enough water power for a normal douche. The pillow and the matras smell smoky and the towels smell not fresh.||For smokers it isn't a problem but for non smokers its smell not nice.||The wifi on the first floor is super but on the second floor not really good.||The breakfast is basic and the price...
