So I’m updating based on my most recent experience. I checked in and paid for the room before receiving my keys but the bed was infested with bugs. The reception seemed reluctant to change my room and finally after sorting the room with big spray to no avail agreed to change the room. The second room also had bugs crawling all over the bed but the hotel policy is no refund so it was either sleep with the bugs or take the 60.000cfa loss. I took the loss. Management needs to do better at being present to solve problems for guest and they need to change their refund policy even if it’s a credit to be used at a later date. The girls at reception are interns who don’t have much experience dealing with situations like this that arise.

The hotel grounds are beautiful but there was no one there during one of the busiest weeks in Koalack (FICA). Our group of 4 rooms were the only ones booked. It felt super creepy. The pools are lovely, but no one was ever in them. Lots of bugs at night due to the proximity to the river. The breakfast was very good. We had a viande pizza, "flesh of the animal", that was rather interesting. It had carrots and a few other mystery ingredients. The staff were welcoming and some spoke a little English, if that's important.

Best hotel in the city. Nice place overlooking the river in Kaoloack. The rooms are more than decent, the food is okay too. However as much as you can, do NOT go during the month of july, there is a fly invasion in the city, it is not tolerable

The phone in the room wasn't working on the day of arrival, but i have told them. The following day, I went to the restaurant for breakfast, and ordered an omelette with onions and green peppers, the waitress came with a plate of onions and green peppers, no omelet in sight. She didn't understand what I meant, mind you, I am from senegal and spoke wolof and french to her. They refused to give me the name of the person in charge, a certain M. Rose (I found out later). Apparently they are scared of him, which is not a good sign of good management. Back to the hotel in the evening, there's water leaking from the A/C unit, complained again and asked to change rooms. No help, phone is still not working. The receptionist called M. Rose and once again no solution offered, for someone who is paying 50,000FCFA a night, mngt doesn't care I guess. The wifi is not working, another issue. I am writing this review using my 4G connection. Today is 06/18/2019, I am...

This place feels like a scam. Can't use your card, sure, already frustrating enough. But whatever you may discuss over the phone is completely disregarded when you arrive on site. Staff is super condescending and sure it's a "business" hotel but i'd rather call it an overpriced motel with the quality of service. The first time we came, breakfast was underwhelming. Get your food somewhere else, you'll get what's worth your buck. Food is as stale as the people here. We're here a second time just because we can't stay anywhere else (we're on a long trip and decided to stop by Kaolack), for one night only and you bet we're not going anywhere near the restaurant or the suspiciously green pools. There's no drinkable water in the rooms for a hotel that claims to be 5 stars. They're definitely 5 stars in something: doing the bare minimum. I'm sure that unless you're the president, you're going to have an experience you'll never forget, no matter how much...

Why rating that low this hotel? See what happened today: I arrived to have lunch. Average course was EUR 45 (!). I asked for just a starter. No way; if I choose a starter I need to buy a main course too (what?!). I thanked them and I sat outside the reception in the shadow making some time before leaving. Lady came; I am not a resident, I have to evacuate. I asked permission to stay 30min while emailing something g urgent. Security arrived, I have to leave, and do it now. I asked for the Manager. No Manager available. I asked for the names to the security to report their mistreatment. No names available. Hotel was empty. I stayed there some months ago. I will never come back. I will recommend anyone visiting Kaolack (Senegal) NOT to stay there. Shame on this place. One week later: I have called three times the hotel asking for the Manager. He’s not in. Left each time message for him to call me urgently. No call back to date…shame...
