Medina Baye Residence — Hotel in Kaolack

I stayed at the Medina Baye Residence with my fiancé while traveling for Humanitarian work. We loved our stay here! The hotel is new and you can tell- the rooms are beautiful and clean, the spaces are decorated thoughtfully and purposefully- we were lucky to have such an incredible home away from home. Their rooftop restaurant has incredible food and is an amazing place to relax, even if you’re not there to eat! Make sure to check out the spa/sauna/pool area if you want to feel like royalty- you can book it privately for up to two hours.

What I loved most about Medina Baye Résidence is the way they made me feel during my stay. I was treated with kindness and respect by every person we encountered at the hotel- everyone was happy, and I felt incredibly blessed to have been able to stay here!

So underwhelmed about this hotel especially given the relative price and reviews. I've had so much better service in simpler and less pretentious hotels/lodges.

The very positive things were the 24h reception for our very late check in, the manager's kindness and discount on the phone, and the fact they take wave.

The room did not seem to have been cleaned recently, with dust especially in the kitchen. Mirror wasn't clean. Towels just for one. No welcome water. Stained pillow covers and towels. The shower completely overflooded the bathroom. No comms on time for breakfast etc. Key didn't work.

The restaurant at the top (and the rest of the hotel) was VERY hot and A/C wasn't working. Stale bread and potatoes that felt soaked in oil from the day before for breakfast.

It feels if you want to brand as a high end hotel you have to step up your service...

We had the most wonderful stay at Residence Medina Baye as a family of four! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's stunning appearance and the top-notch service. My husband, especially, was amazed by the hotel's exceptional standard, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The quality of service was outstanding, with the staff being incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive to our needs.

We thoroughly enjoyed the spa and the pool – perfect for relaxation after a busy day. The entire experience was so much more than we had hoped for, and for the price, it is absolutely worth it. We can confidently say this is the best hotel in the Kaolack area, and we highly recommend booking a stay here...
