A group of friends went to celebrate New Year’s Eve and we were completely disappointed. We had 2 days in a row dinner in the restaurant with live music. The first night where we were 200 people from BG, there was 2 tables of 10-15 people (Serbians), which showed complete ignorance and discuss towards our people, because we were dancing on a tradition song from our country and we had our national flag waving it while dancing and 2 of those Serbians stood up from there table and started pulling our flag and said that we are not allowed to this as we are in there country and if don’t stop there will be a problem. Somehow the things settle after the involvement of the staff and the staff apologised and promised that on the next evening (dinner) will be different and those people won’t be anymore here. On the following night, there was no one to make a fight and even the staff told us that they’ve brought their own flag so we can wave both of our national flags and said that we can enjoy the evening and there will be more songs in our language as we are more people present. At the beginning of the evening everything was starting okay, but as we stood there we noticed half of the Serbians who were celebrating the previous night, were again there with other people and as soon as they came the live music changed only in there language. We made a complain about it to the manager and he agreed to go and be a Dj and the brakes of the singers but as soon as he started he played only 2-3 songs in our language and then was only Serbian music. We tried to ask him to put something else he told us that the Serbians gave him money and he has other 10 songs before our turn. We waited patiently for around 30 minutes and we asked him again and again the answer was the same as before. This time he started to ask about money from us so he can put a song, which he didn’t have the right to do, because he is an ordinary waiter and just went and played song from a phone on Spotify. We told him that this is disrespectful & they are discriminating. He just raised his shoulders obviously showing that he doesn’t care and directly stated that if we’re not happy we can leave. The most horrible experience and holiday I’ve seen in my life. The staff in the hotel and the accommodation was satisfying apart of the restaurant staff. If you’re not Serbian, don’t go there. Read moreReading the previous reviews I think this hotel has gone downhill. ||Arrived to find the spa and swimming pools were closed. Being on a cycle tour and the weather was very wet the hotel did not let us store our bikes safely inside and we had to keep them out in the rain. ||The hotel hasn’t got their lighting right, it’s too dark and not inviting in the foyer and the bedrooms do not have a relaxing ambiance.||Room smelt pretty bad when we got in and worked out it was the drains in the bathroom. It was really unpleasant and smelled of sewage. I also heard throughout the night people flushing their toilets and shutting their doors so walls are not very well insulated.||Staff were okay and helpful though||Breakfast was okay but very basic. Dinner at the adjacent Istanbul restaurant was okay but...
