Hotel Atlas — Hotel in City of Novi Pazar

I booked a night at the Atlas Hotel mostly because of the price. I was only in Novi Pazar for one night. Upon arriving I was greeted by the staff and check in was easy. They speak enough English to lightly converse. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. i was in a room on the third floor which I was told had good wifi. It did! The room is spartan. It had two twin beds, a desk, TV, and some small furniture. The shower was hot and the water had decent pressure. The room was clean. It was the price that I was attracted to and not knowing anything of Novi Pazar the distance to city center and to Sopocani Monastery which was the reason for my visit. The staff provided breakfast which was also good in the hotel's restaurant. They again had a wedding but it didn't bother me. It was over before I even noticed. I must say that this is not a four star hotel. The price reflects that. But for what I got it should be rated higher. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was right. I stayed in Hotel Atlas during 3 nights and I would be happy to come back. The room was very spacious, the bed King size and comfortable, the bathroom had soap and shampoo, the flat TV was large and had numerous channels, the WiFi worked perfectly, as did the heating. The hotel has a lift, which is a plus in the Balcans. The personnel was very friendly and helpful, as well in the reception as in the restaurant and room service. Pretty basic really. Parking on the road outside very busy and full and then reception isn't a great first impression and there is no immediate rest area or bar for a relaxing drink. The room was a reasonable size with clean bedclothes and towels. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't seem to operate no smoking in the rooms and there was a distinctive aroma in both rooms offered which isn't really acceptable these days.
