This hotel is beautiful. The interior was of a very high standard and the rooms, while not enormous were luxuriously furnished for such a moderate sized hotel. The staff spoke in English and were very friendly and helpful. Our room had a balcony on the back which overlooked the local football ground which entertained my son at times. He even attended a match. There is a very colourful open market next door to the hotel which seems to go on for miles: equally entertaining.||||||The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent in th evenings and i would recommend them but the breakfasts were very odd for our tastes( vegetable stir fry each morning with lemon cheesecake and rhubarb? tart as an example of accompanying items). The cereal was all poured into one container: cornflakes, oats, cocopops etc which made it inedible. There was fried egg and sausage on offer though, European style, and fruit. You have to ask for items when they run out, like milk, orange juice, cups.||||The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the town. At night this is not a great idea as the street lights are blocked by trees and their are holes in the footpath so we went over on our ankles a few times. There is a bus stop which comes regularly, although the last bus back is 10:15pm. What we realised towards the end was that the equivalent of £2 would get us into town or back in a taxi! ||||Serbia is a different experience. The food is great and very cheap as is...
Read moreMy second visit: Still a very good place to stay, the only problem was that this time the air conditioning in my room didn't work properly and even though I set it to 21°C it was quite warm in the room and I couldn't sleep well.
My first visit to this hotel. I would have given 5 stars but since I spent 3 nights in 3 different hotels and cities during my business trip I have to rate fairly. I know of no problems, everything was absolutely fine. The only thing that really surprised me, and in general for all 3 hotels, was the fact that smoking was allowed in the restaurants. As there were not too many people in the restaurant at breakfast there was no problem with smoking, but in the evening I was not too happy about it. However, this is my problem as I am not used to smoking in restaurants, which was banned here (in the Czech Republic) in 2017 and to be perfectly honest, I am glad. I'm an active pipe smoker, but I still don't mind the EU ban on smoking in restaurants. Back to the review. We were able to park right outside the hotel on the main street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and the dinner was delicious! Breakfast was also very good! I would like to mention the excellent...
Read moreI had a one night stay in this hotel as I was flying back from Belgrade and wanted to break the journey and stay in Subotica as I had never visited the city before. Having stayed in several Serbian Hotels before where Communist styles and levels of service still exist, this hotel was both very modern and stylish, as well as friendly. ||The room was very comfortable and had constant hot water, air con and lots of TV channels in a variety of languages. It also had a nice balcony, as I was not checking out until 12, I was able to lounge in the sun after breakfast. The included breakfast was ham and eggs with bread, fruit juice and coffee which was enough to see me through to dinner as there was no room for lunch.||As other people have said, it is a long walk from the city centre, but if you are staying for longer than I did, I'm sure you would be able to work out the bus timetable as they seemed to pass the hotel regularly, and the English speaking receptionists would be...
