Hotel Crni Vrh — Hotel in City of Valjevo

My wife, son and I stayed at hotel Crni vrh at February 2023 for five days, in Junior Studio apartment.||Here are some of our observations and impressions.||First the good ones. |Check in was pleasant and fast, without any kind of problems or misunderstandings.|The guys at the entrance helped us unload our luggage and took it to the apartment, just as they helped us pack into the car during check out.|At the bigining, I have to say that the staff was very pleasant during our entire stay, from the people at the reception, through the staff in the restaurant to the housekeepers. Really, very pleasant and helpful at every moment.||First impressions when we entered the apartment was great. It is one of the biggest and spacious apartments we have been (over 68sqm). Two large rooms (bedroom and living room with the kitchen and dining area), two conected terraces (every room has one) and a bathroom. A tip, rooms overviewing the courtyard are much brighter (south side view) and with much nicer view.|The bed in the bedroom was great - big and with firm new mattress (which will later prove to be the most important thing that saved our stay).|We also liked the furniture design, especially the chairs and leather sofas.|Lightning in the apartment is also a nice touch. A lot of subtle lights in every space makes you can create really pleasant atmosphere.|Espresso coffee machine is a great thing to have, as my wife and me love to have a quick coffee few times a day. The housekeepers were happy to make sure that we always had enough coffee for the machine.||Lobby is nice with modern desing and comfortable leather sofas. Fresh fruits and sweets available at all time on few spots and at every floor. ||Hotel has a very nice pool/spa area that we used many times during our stay. Pool is large and cossy, with a nice view at the outdoor terrace and small meadow for downhill skiing and children playground. Especially nice is jacuzzi room. It is important to say that the hotel is very child friendly, and in this sense there are many children at the pool at any time, so it is important to coordinate the time of going to the pool to avoid crowds. There is also an evening term for the pool from 9-10:30 p.m. which is adult only.|Perhaps the most important thing about the pool and spa is that everything is new and very clean, which is surprisingly positive for Serbia, and believe me, I've been to a lot of such facilities in Serbia.|Next to the pool, there are some other activities in the hotel, mostly sports and for cihldren.||The food - I left that one for the end of the positive part of the review, because the food is by far the best thing in the hotel. We had an breakfast and a dinner. Both in the same basement area with buffet in one large room, and dining in the other. |The food selection is excellent with local and international dishes, but the quality is even better than the selection. For the five days we were there, every day the dishes for dinner were different and so delicious that we couldn't decide which was better. I could write for a long time about the food, but I will stop. Next to the main restoran there are also a bar and a second restoran where you can have lunch, as the third one called No. 4 just outside the hotel entrance (that is also great).||After two days I was wondering why this hotel does not have 5 stars as it is much better that some 5 star hotels we have been especially in Serbia.|It would be a perfect review and a perfect 5 star rate if there weren't some bad things that I unfortunately have to mention. ||There are no doors between two rooms in the apartment. You can not close the room of one when children are a sleep and be comfortable in another room. That's just crazy and I cannot see the reason why there are no doors?|Fridge in the kitchen is too loud, and that's because it is just placed inside the kitchen kabinet without any ventilation, so the fridge is hot as hell from the outside, trying to cool inside.|Bad shower drain. Its a ''modern'' shower type without a bathtub with just a tiles in a small slope, but poorly executed, so when You take a shower, entire bathroom is under water which goes even under the door to the room. I have to say that when we called the main desk, they send the maid immediately to clean the bathroom from the water, but it needs to be done every time.|The occasional bad smell of sewage in the corridors of the hotel on all floors, especially in the basement where the dining is. Fortunately, it's not non-stop, only occasionally, but enough to make it very uncomfortable.|We saw that there are a few ping-pong desks with rackets in the basement, but we got an answer from the front desk that there were no balls anywhere in the hotel. ||Even in spite of all the bad things I wrote, this review would have been rated 5 stars if it wasn't for this last thing that I will mention now which could have influenced me to rate the hotel even with 3 stars.||Worst additional bad ever (the one in the living room). After few nights of changing who will sleep on it, we all ended up sleeping together at bedroom queen size bad with a great mattress. The bad in th eliving room is just 5cm of memory foam on the top of flat hard surface. Impossible to sleep. In this case too, the staff reacted immediately and without question by bringing another memory foam, but even that did not improve sleeping comfort. Memory foam simply does not serve to sleep on, but only as an addition to the existing mattress, which in this case was not there.|Fortunately, the bed in the bedroom is excellent, but still not comfortable enough for three people. If we wanted to sleep together with a 9-year-old child, we could have taken a regular room with one king-size bed and paid significantly less.||So that's it.|I hope someone finds this review helpful, and even with our bed problem I think we will be back - at least for a...

Crni Vrh, a hotel nestled within the Divcibare mountains, in one of a kind hotel that I have experienced at least In Serbia. This Hotel like many top hotels in the world provides a range of restaurants, bars, cafes and launges for one to relax and catch a bite or sip on ones favourite drink while enjoying the most beautiful environment that it's surrounded by. But what sets it apart from most hotels that I have visited in the Balkans, is the attention given to a us by the staff. Phenomenal. From the person that greets you at the door as you enter, to the waiting staff, receptionist etc... Each person that tends to you, gives one the feeling as if you are all that matters to them. Me and my family stayed there for 7 days... I must say, the sheer level of service offered swept us away and made is feel royal. The Hotel it's self, is well designed, the rooms are very comfortable, well sized and also provided two toilets which we found to be very convenient as a family. The launge cafes and restaurants are up to mark and each provides a differant view of the surroundings. The hotel has large indoor swimming pool with Sauna, steam and a Jaccuzi. Also for the fitness freak there is a fully decked Gym with the state of the art machines and equipment. There is a full sized football ground, and many basketball courts and other sports facilities both outdoors and indoors. And what we loved most was a supervised play area for children where you could come and leave your little monsters while you catch your breath or catch a meal or a drink in the bar.

We had breakfast and dinner included in the package deal that we had and thought this to be a bargain having paid only Euro 780 or so for 4 of us for 7 nights. Dining over all was a pleasant experience with a buffet in the morning, and a new set 4 course meal each night for all guests. Though I personally felt that whole 4 course meal was a bit much, and gave you one limited options to choose what they would like to eat that night, but over all, the food was always good and also offered a sense of excitement wondering what new menu would be there each day. Though some dishes lacked the luster or were a little short of my expectations, over all I was not disappointed. But like I said in the beggining, the staff was always amazingly professional, curious and constantly on point to assist you in any way possible. That it self made up for any little experience that didn't hit bulls eye.

This was my first time there, bit will definitely not be my last. I highly recommend any one looking for total relaxation get away, to book this place....
