Etno domaćinstvo "Milenković" — Hotel in Despotovac Municipality

This is a shining example of how rural/eco tourism should look like and function. Bravo for very kind, welcoming and ever cooperating hosts of this ethno household, situated deep in the forest. So, be prepared to drive about 1,5 km of the road, through the woods and meadows and on a dirt road. The household is newly built. Its owners are still adding some finishing touches. This includes planes to build and open a big hunting ground for all interested. For now, you may socialize with a few deer, also newly acquired. ||Rooms look like on the given photos. They are simply decorated and not too big. Great terraces, though. Do not expect comfort of a five-star hotel, since this is nothing like that. And it shouldn’t be. You’re a guest in a Serbian village house. Embrace it. The walls are not thickest I’ve seen, but with guests’ decent behavior, this shouldn’t be a problem.||The food is amazing. Homemade food at its best. We had breakfast included in the price and amazed with how much different homemade stuff you could be offered for one meal. Feel free to arrange everything with the lady of the household, for any meal. She’s open to all suggestions and could surely offer you something you couldn’t even expect, especially if you’re not a connoisseur of east Serbian cuisine. ||You could use this household as a base for exploring area around Despotovac (monasteries, caves, waterfalls,...

This eco mini-hotel was a part of our Serbian round trip. The main reason we booked it was its proximity to Veliki Buk waterfall and Manasija Monastery. But, the moment we drove through the gate we realized that we should have stayed there for at least 2-3 nights. Endless oat fields, forest, deers, hunter's corners and lovely wooden houses with living rooms. Family Milenkovic are exceptional hosts: you can talk to them for hours. Welcome shot of Šljivovica was a nice touch and so was our tailor-made dinner containing pork schnitzels, potatoes in cream sauce, and own mushrooms and veggies. We've had the most wonderful experience staying at this place. The hosts are super nice and friendly. The food was superb. Everything that they cooked and offered there was delicious. The place is quiet and only birds songs can be heard. As it is absolutely isolated it is safe for the kids just to play around and explore the big garden and the playground. The animals there were also great fun for the kids. Apart from enjoying the marvelous view, we biked in the area ( Monasteries, Caves, Waterfalls).
