I first stayed at the Hotel Radan in Prolom Banja in 2010. It was on one of my first visits to Serbia and I had never been to this part of the country before, nor been to a spa before. I was bowled over by it and had been hoping to come back ever since. I have been enthusing about Prolom Banja for the last eight years to the surprise of many of my Serbian friends. At last I had the opportunity to do go back. Would it live up to my expectations? I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed. In the interveniing years the hotel had been updated and its overall offering had been improved.||||Our room was perfectly clean, comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of room for our clothes and in the bathroom there was a cabinet for our toiletries. There were enough sockets for our phones and computers.||||Prolom water (from the nearby springs) is used for everything in the hotel including water for drinking, water for washing, water in the swimming pool and even for making beer. It is reputed to have many therapeutic qualities, including being good for the skin.||||We made good use of the main swimming pool (which is open until 11pm). There is another swimming pool available for a small extra charge and in the summer there is an outdoor pool - work was being doine on it during ur visit in May. Various medical treatments are available. My wife had a massage which she said was excellent.||||The hotel is in beautiful countryside and the air felt fresh and clean. There are paths for walking in the area.||||We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but had a meal in the main restaurant on the night we arrived and were pleasanty surprised. Normally guests choose the main course of their meal the previous day so we had to choose from a smaller selection than would otherwise be the case. Nevertheless it was a very tasty meal; nothing fancy but straightforward food well prepared. For lunch the next day we went to the Etno Krcma ("Ethno Inn") a few minutes walk from the main part of the hotel and situated on the banks of the Prolom River. There we had an first rate meal of roast meat. The portions were huge but the waiter was happy to put our leftovers in a continer so that we could take them home with us. By the Etno Krcma there is an old house with a display of traditonal furnishings and equipment. There is no explanation and the artefacts on display seem to come from different periods but despite this it is an evocative little museum.||||Prolom beer comes in two types, light and dark. Both are good, and are available only on draft at the hotel. As they are made from Prolom water I think they must be good for you.||||Breakfast was simply superb. It was a buffet with a wide range of food, mostly traditional Serbian dishes (and so appealingy exotic to a visitor from England). Only two things disappointed. The fried eggs had evidently been kept in a warm tray for too long and looked rather unappealling. And the coffee and fruit juice were from machines and of poor quality. This seems sadly typical of hotels in Serbia and quite unnecessary. The coffee in the cafe just outside the restaurant where breakfast was served (and still part of the hotel) was fine. Please, Hotel Radan, improve your breakfast coffee! Otherwise it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a Serbian hotel.||||We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at Prolom Banja. The only problem was that it was too short. Next time I hope we will be able to stay longer so that we have time to see more of the area and try more of the facilities. I hope our next visit will be in the summer when the open air swimming pool is available, and that we will not have to wait another...

The place is great if you want relaxing spa experience or are in need of medical treatment with mineral water. The water is absolutely great - for swimming, drinking too! The hotel itself is a little bit mix - new renovations with some part still from the old buildings - yet the main areas like our room, restaurant, club and most of the spa facilities are pretty new. The heating is great for spa place and even too warm in the rooms (we were there in winter, and you would need summer clothes). The breakfast is buffet and lunch and dinner are preordered from a menu on the previous day; but the meals are really large, tasty, traditional home cooked - my family really loved it; they give a selection of 5 main dishes per meal; with soup, salad and dessert. Best part is the spa centre - has all things you would normally expect from a good spa; special treat is the half closed half outdoor pool - which is great for winter; you can swim outside on the snow. ||We were there just 4 days and didn't use any of the medical procedures - but from talking with people, it seems those are of good quality too. The effects of the special water were quite visible! Massages are very good too.||All in all - it is not a high luxury resort, but it's great for spa treatments and relaxing - I will definitely return. Staff is nice and helpful; cleanness on high level too - no remarks on that at all...would love to check it in spring or summer - the nature...

Takes app 3 1/2 h to get to Prolom banja from Belgrade and right upon arrival many expectations are fulfilled. ||The moment you enter a parking area you feel as valuable guest. Reception service is very proffessional and fast.||The room was ok, needs renovation for sure as the room was in old part of hotel. Still it was clean and maintain well. TV is good and set of programs fine. Have also one goo channel for kids.||Restaurant is top. We had breakfast, lunch and dinnee and all was so tasty and excellent prepared. Breakfast was buffet and the choice had to be made for lunch and dinner between 4-5 different meals always having one dietary. ||Prolom water is served everywhere. ||WiFi is also fine if you need it.||Spa area is veey good. Pool is quite big, water temp 32 degrees, also many other choices of salt room, hot water small pool and others. ||Before using any of facilities, doctor's examination is required. Massage is recommended.||There are many additional activities organized such as excursions, live music evenings..||Kids enjoyed it and we had wonderful time.||Everybody made their best to make you feel valuable guest.||Important note, this is 3 star hotel, however you feel like being in much...

The good: beautiful location deep in the nearby mountains; the hotel’s premises look nice; decent buffet breakfast and spa facilities; room has balcony; good base to visit Devil’s Town; free wi-fi and private parking; The bad: small cramped triple room, rather small bathroom; almost no English speaking staff; 5 € lunch or dinner are poor; no good value for money; outdoor pools were closed;

The best spa in the whole of Serbia, experiences from all over the world applied in one place. Traditional hospitality with plenty of quality food. Rooms and suites on the level of a five star hotel, beautiful nature that surrounds all this. Great place for an active vacation.
