I've spent 4 days with a 7yo there and can say that it was a great experience.||After reading the reviews was not sure whether should stay there in the first place, but after a friend assured me it was more than ok, decided to do that.||The hotel is places on the hill among the woods with a beautiful view over the river.||The lobby is huge, with a romantic ambience with renewed furniture, nice fire place and a rustic piano. It felt rustic and cozy.||We had half board for only 40eur which is an amazing price considering you're getting nice food and well sized room at a large hotel with extremely friendly staff and a like new well sized swimming pool. There is wellness which can be used at extra costs of only 10eur, but no kids allowed, so couldn't try it out.||The bathroom is refurnished, new windows, but old furniture. Towels clean and new. Room cleaning every day.||Once again, swimming pool is amazing, water seems to be clean and most importantly, warm.||Breakfast was ok, eggs, sausages, french toast, cornflakes, fruit and plain yogurt, jam, honey, milk, fresh buns, toast, etc.||Dinner consists of soups, each evening different one and 2 main dishes, one fish (very well prepared) and meat like chicken, ram steak, Schnitzel (very, very well cooked), potatoes, corns, salads. Desert would be ice cream, pudding, cake, apple, depending on the day.||There is a great bar with a beautiful view over the river and woods.||It's nice and quite, can't remember when I "heard" such silence before during the night.||There is pool and darts to play at additional feev(we didn't have the time to use them)||There is an air conditioning, outdated TV with a few channels.||There is a souvenir/photo shop as well as a small shop at the hotel.||It is a 2 star hotel, so don't expect luxury, but for the "luxury-like" in Serbia you would have to pay at least 80 eur (at some"banja"), often 140 - 200 eur and more for a BB only.||There is clean air, nice surroundings, Lepenski vir is only few km away. There is also a kind of etno village Kapetan Misin Breg, Golubacka Fortress is 40km away.||We enjoyed this hotel and would most...
Read moreThis had a bit of a strange feel about it, there were hundreds of children there for some kind of sports training camp. They were well behaved and there was very little interaction but the house felt a bit like a school.||The building faces NE - towards the river - and SW, obviously SW gets the sun. The rooms have air-conditioning and a balcony. In my room I could see daylight around the edge of the door to the balcony. Since no-one smoked in the vicinity and temperatures were reasonable, that actually worked quite well.||The bathroom was very functional - the shower was well-designed and the hot water available almost immediately.||There is no WiFi in the rooms, only unencrypted in the reception area. Mobile Phone coverage is from Serbian and Romanian networks.||There is a shop right next to Reception, rather necessary when the town is 10 minutes walk down a steep (and hard to find) trail, walk around the SE corner and follow the path down through the woods.||We all had problems finding the breakfast area, it was not the obvious one. It opens at around 07:00 and you order the meal you want.||Enough of the staff spoke English so communication was...
Read moreMaybe the hotel was a grand hotel in socialist years long ago. Now it is still large, but many facilities, including the rooms, are old and worn. The cleanliness of our rooms was, well, improvable. The basic architecture of the rooms is good, but a complete refurbishment would be necessary.||As there are several sports facilities, obviously connected to the hotel, there were several sports teams (mostly children and teens) from Serbia, Romania and Russia in the hotel.||Breakfast for individual travellers is served in an extra room.||Our rooms had a small balcony with a great view of the Danube.||WIFI is available only in the lobby and unable to handle more than 10 devices logged in.||There is a recently completely renovated (or newly built?) spa and wellness centre, including an indoor swimming pool. The swimming pool is free, everything else costs 10 € per day.||The personnel? Somewhere between Socialist bureaucracy and modern customer-oriented service.||If your demands of the accomodation are low (and you like to experience relics of an era past) and you are looking for a budget accomodation, you may choose the Lepenski Vir, but have realistic...
