This hotel was exceptional, clean, private beach, quiet, amazing spa and great pool with bar. The only let down and only let down was the food. I only ate four meals at rhe hotel  (well tried to eat) in 14 days. The only thing they did ok with was a cheese board. We would drive 20-30 minutes either way to go to other hotels and dine at their restaurants we would easily spend $60 - $80 more than their menu prices and wern't disappointed elsewhere. We ordered room service 1st night there. It was so bad we did not eat a thing, best way to describe everything was microwaved mush. This was ordered at 7.30pm when the kitchen was opened, really no excuses. Next day for lunch I ordered octopus & crab salad. I complained to the waitress there was no crab. 15 mins later still no response so I asked for the manager. No apologies for not responding to the waitress. 10 mins later he arrives with a small plate of seafood extender chopped up on a small plate and wanted to tip it on my salad. I said no that is not crab, he said it is crab stick. No I said it was seafood extender and was made from tripe, a little fish, preservatives and food colouring. No I don't want that on my meal thank you, again no apology! Next day I thought oven roasted catch of the day for lunch, an island full of fresh fish how could they get this wrong! Well a frozen fillet, grilled that dry I nearly needed a steak knife to eat it. I complained but it just seems the staff are so used to it they are numb to it or simply just don't care. I just didn't/couldn't eat half of it, so bad! Then three days before leaving my wife didn't want to travel out for dinner so we ate at our hotel. I ordered fish creole curry. The fish was very dry as it was grilled and not cooked in the curry the sauce. The sause was barely warm as it not been microwaved long enough and had very little flavour of creole more like a gravy. I left 90% in my bowl, just ate the steamed rice. No one would ask when so much food was left on the plate was there a problem with the food sir? What management does not understand this is a 5 star hotel serving 3 star food. The guests staying here can and will afford to pay more for really decent food. It seems to be cost driven to lower the fòod cost and maximise the margin but if there are no bums on seats you end up with giant food wasteage. Most evenings would see less the 20% of tables occupied. If the owners were to benchmark the $ income from food (not drinks) to the number of guests they would get a shock and understand they have a problem. They own other 6 star resorts so will know how this looks against their other properties. I really think they are trying to keep prices down to attract guests to eat in and not travel out for meals. Alas it is doing the absolotue opposite. I spoke to other guests and they all had the same or similar experience. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel just don't...

An Unforgettable Paradise Rediscovered – Carana Beach Hotel Seychelles

Having stayed at Carana Beach Hotel five times before, we thought we knew what to expect – the charm, the serenity, and the natural beauty that keeps us coming back. But this time, our experience went beyond extraordinary. Under the visionary leadership of the new manager, Marco, Carana has undergone a revolution, elevating every aspect of the guest experience to new heights.

From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service was evident. Marco and his team greeted us warmly, ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect. The sense of care and attentiveness was unparalleled, creating a welcoming and personalized atmosphere that set the tone for an exceptional getaway.

The culinary transformation under the leadership of the talented Chef Marcus and his dedicated sous chef Wallis is nothing short of spectacular. The dining experience has become a true highlight, with dishes that rival the world’s finest restaurants. Every plate was a masterpiece, blending fresh, local ingredients with innovative flavors. Breakfasts were indulgent, lunches were vibrant, and dinners – well, they were unforgettable. We found ourselves eagerly anticipating every meal, savoring each bite, and marveling at the creativity and passion evident in every dish.

P.S.A special thank you to Chef Ervin for his spectacular desserts and heavenly homemade bread and pastries! These culinary creations were the cherry on top of an already perfect stay.

The service throughout the resort has also seen a remarkable upgrade. The staff seemed genuinely inspired, always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. From seamless housekeeping to thoughtful touches like remembering our preferences from previous visits, they left no stone unturned in making us feel special.

It’s rare for a place to feel like home yet simultaneously surprise and delight in ways that take your breath away. Carana Beach Hotel has managed to do just that. This stay truly rocked and exceeded every expectation we had. Marco and his team have brought a new energy and soul to the resort, making it a destination we not only adore but also now revere.

For those seeking luxury, tranquility, and a world-class experience in Seychelles, Carana Beach Hotel is no longer just a recommendation – it’s an absolute must. We are already dreaming of our next visit, knowing it will once again be nothing...

Paradise is real! The Seychelles is a truly breathtaking place and the main island Mahe is the capital and therefore somewhat more commercial. In the north of Mahe lies Carana Beach Hotel - a beautiful boutique resort that offers a more tranquil, luxurious and relaxing stay. Carana location means it’s a little out of the way from the busy areas and therefore offers a more secluded and quieter stay whilst being within easy reach of Victoria and the marina for bit excursions etc.||The pool villa is stunning! A Large room with impressive bathroom and a huge terrace with a private pool - what more would you want?! The gardens and grounds are incredibly well|Maintained with beauty everywhere you turn. Carana has its own private beach which at high tide looks postcard perfect. At low tide you can wander a little further and explore the huge granite boulders on the beach which are signature features of the Seychellois landscape and a photographers dream backdrop! ||The staff at Carana beach are some of the best staff we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. There are so many lovely staff members that would stop to say good morning with a huge friendly smile - this made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. We met the talented head chef Marcus and his sous chef most evenings as they would often come out to chat with the guests. The evening meals were mostly 4 course and some of the finest food we’ve ever had the pleasure of eating! ||We were lucky enough to have our wedding ceremony at carana beach and the whole event was organised by the incredible guest relations manager Mercia, who couldn’t have been more helpful. She really did look after us so well and was an exceptional standout member of the team as well as a witness to our beautiful wedding ceremony held on the beach. ||This really was a magical stay in the most beautiful hotel ran by an incredible team in a part of the world that felt like paradise - we did lots of excursions on and off the island and really got to see the Seychelles for its unique and awe inspiring beauty. ||Thank you...

The biggest surprise at our second trip to Seychelles! Situated at one of the most picturesque bays on Mahé (see my attached photos and you will understand) we found this stunning Boutique hotel with 40 spacious ocean view Chalets and a vibrant creole spirit. As a Top Contributor on TripAdvisor, I always read a lot of reviews before I choose my hotels. I also do it this time and found some really bad reviews. Normally I would not have chosen this one but my local travel agency “Magellan Tours” highly recommend it so I trust them – and what a great surprise!! Carana beach hotel is an excellent base from which to visit Mahé. Our ocean View Chalet no 15 was beautifully furnished with a colonial island architectural taste: they are spacious, bathrooms are well appointed, and a beautiful deck facing the beautiful ocean. High ceiling. Powerful A/C and a good fan! The room cleaning is awesome, and they occasionally also leave some lovely flowers on the bed. Five stars for the housekeeping! Our plane arrived very early in the morning, and we were at the hotel before 9 am. Carana Beach was so accommodating and able to check us in early upon arrival. We were not expecting this, but it was so appreciated after a long 24 hours of travel from Norway. Fantastic and professional hospitality offered by all the staff. Breakfast was quite simple but delicious. We also got a lovely dinner set up by the beach on our last night by Mr. Melan (the best waiter at the hotel) which exceeded all expectations! Pool is a very nice infinite pool with comfortable sunbeds. Low speed and unstable internet. Only 1 login/pass per device. In summary, Carana beach hotel is a very well-run resort offering a very high standard of quality and service. A huge congratulation to the whole team at Carana beach hotel! Keep on like this and you will reach the top list at Tripadvisor! Hope to see you again! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

My family and I spent our summer vacation in this delightful hotel. despite the fearing Google reviews, we actually enjoyed our time while being there. The location of the hotel is significant. I will explain it in details. It’s like these little villas that have an ocean view and some have a private pool with the amazing view. Also, the hotel is built around a beach, so there is only private access to the beach for the people that are staying in the villas. No one outside of the hotel can access it that was special. As well as the rooms had a bit of mosquitoes and bugs. It is expected since we’re in an island. one thing I specially liked in the rooms is that the AC works perfectly. The service is fast and some of the staff are friendly. Special things too ❤️Bernadette❤️. She took care of us in the restaurant. all of the staff were friendly and nice, but she took the extra step to take care of our staying while we there. We will be missing her hospitality and welcomeness.
