Pension Under the castle — Hotel in Boleráz

Breakfast on the weekend from 9:00. The owner took the control of the air conditioning and did not want to give it to us despite the fact that the air conditioning is supposed to be part of the rooms and it was 30 degrees outside (even in our attic room).| Extremely unpleasant and unwilling attitude especially of the owner and, by extension, of the employees. We had booked a four-bed room (40m2) and upon arrival we were assigned a double room - we were scolded for even daring to say anything, even the owner herself came because of this and gave us a several-minute lecture about the fact that this is the standard. So one of the employees brought us one bed from another room, which the owner didn't like very much.|The highlight was that we left in the morning (8:00 a.m.) when it is not yet open on Sundays, so we left the key in the lock and the hotel always takes the payment from the booking card, as we are used to from other accommodations - he called me in the afternoon after departure employee and started yelling hysterically and swearing at me about how we could afford such a thing and that we left without being paid.|I have never experienced similar behavior and...

I just wanted a place to sleep for the night after having driven all day. I found this place and was skeptical as it seems to be the local "watering hole" and had a few worker's vans parked in front. The staff were pretty rude and rough cut. Basically bar maids who have heard and seen it all, and if you don't like it you know what you can do. They wouldn't tell me outright if they had a room for me. I think they were hoping more people would come and pay more for the room - I'm traveling alone and the room I finally got had 4 beds in it. I think a lot of workmen stay here when they are out on jobs away from home. Anyway I persisted and finally they gave me a room. It was clean, had good AC, decent shower and good TV reception. Wifi worked fine. It was quiet, no drunken shouting as I feared...

If this is the place I think/jope it is, it's also a pub and restaurant that does great traditional Slovakian food. I've had both Slovak savoury pancakes and goulash soup here and was happy with the hearty portions. They have a shaded garden and table service and - unlike in other places in rural Slovakia the young waitress wasn't too phased by my being English and produced an English version of the menu.
