We arrived early in the evening, a bit tired from the road, and totally missed the huge red button with a giant arrow at the entrance that says: “Press here to call the owners.” So just a heads-up: it’s right there. Maybe you're more observant than we were. :) The campsite itself is quite large, and when we stayed, it was fairly busy. That said, it’s a great place for families with younger kids (under 10 especially) — they’ll find friends within minutes and have a blast running around the area. The land is sloped in many areas, so it took us a bit of time to find a reasonably flat spot for our tent. But we managed, and it was fine in the end. Facilities were excellent: Clean toilets, no annoying shower timers, consistent hot water, dishwashing stations, and all the basics a proper campsite should offer. Everything was well maintained. The shared bar/kitchen area had one really cool feature we hadn’t seen before: a self-service system. You grab drinks or snacks from the fridge or cupboards, write down what you took in a ledger with your name, and pay when you leave. The prices were reasonable too — not cheap, but fair for a campsite setup. As a bonus: there are two hiking trails that start from the campground itself. If you have the time, take one — maps are available in the main kitchen/bar area. A nice little touch of nature right at your tent door. The only real downside: Bluetooth speakers. Quite a few people blasted their music around us, which ruined the peace a bit. If you’re like us and enjoy quiet evenings with nature, that might be annoying. (To those people: may your next seat be on a cactus.) All in all though, a solid campsite — and yes, we’d happily return.

When you are travelling and want somewhere to stop unwind and relax then this is the spot. Great spot with amazing facilities, especially the communal area with kitchen, fire pit, lounge, library, good wifi, cold drinks (honesty box) and a great place to sit an unwind. We really enjoyed meeting other travellers. The owners have put a lot of work in to a place that you can really enjoy. We stopped originally for one night but stayed for 2. If you have children they will enjoy getting close to the farm animals, also a good adventure playground. Good clean facilities. We would recommend to others and would definitely stay again. Also best to book.

Wow, what a great place. The whole setup was amazing. There is a huge covered communal area with cooking facilities, a huge fire pit, games, and relaxation areas where everyone gathers at any time during the day or evening. €18.50 a night for motorhome and 2 adults and we opted to pay the additional €8 to hear by electric overnight as it was quite cold. Honesty box for beer, hot drinks, bread etc. Would highly recommend. I was unable to taste the rooms as we were in a motorhome however as the rest of it was great I rated them highly too 😀

Brezno was not a main destination on our recent trip, but added on when we learned that a friend of ours was performing in a local club, so we hurriedly looked for a place to stay and found Sedliacky Dvor. What a stroke of luck for us! A fine old flat on a working farm, lovingly kept up, where everything worked perfectly. My wife was very happy to have an excellent kitchen, where she could prepare a dinner using fine ingredients sold by a Brezno butcher. The proprietors are warm and welcoming, speak perfect English (they are Dutch), and messaged us the day before our arrival to offer us a flat with a shared kitchen, just to save us some money! You don't get that kind of consideration very often... We did decide to stay with our own kitchen. Wandering around looking at the sheep and chickens was very restorative after Brezno's bustle. We found that many guests help take care of the animals during their stays. We think we will do the same next time, because there will be a next time. Already looking at three days minimum our next trip. Sedliacky Dvor will be reason enough to come back to Brezno...

Eind mei 2019
