Really nice hotel and you will never find a ski hotel with a better location in the whole world. Seriously! Walk for 30 seconds and you are by the ski lift. The car park is also 30 seconds away and is completely free. Also the ski hire/repair shop shares a wall with the hotel.
Breakfast and dinner are really nice, dinner especially so which was completely different every day. Lunch is served in the lobby and is not included. Only negatives in regards to food/drink is that bottled water, and all drinks for that matter, are extremely expensive. The cheapest drink is a beer, which is 50 cents cheaper than a regular tea.
There is free WiFi in the lobby and reception which doesn't require a code. But there is no wi-fi access anywhere else in the hotel.
The rooms are of a perfect size and come with a lovely sofa, lots of drawers and even a fancy hairdryer. The only negative was the shower which was basic.
The Spa is nothing special. 3 small saunas and a few beds plus a pathetically lukewarm jacuzzi outside in the freezing cold. I could only stay 1 minute. The spa is worth going to once as the first time is free, but I wouldn't bother going back, especially that it costs 15 euro's per person. Worth 5 euros at most.
The worse thing I found with the hotel other than all the small children running around, was the staff. They were very rude and looked negative most of the time. Their English wasn't good at all and were very slow to serve you at the bar and to bring things to the table, but very quick to take things away. Their attitude was not good, but it wasn't a reason to spoil the experience.
All in all 4/5. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Other hotels might be more posh and have better spa but this suits well. And I worry that if the hotel ski lift is closed then it would be impossible to do any skiing without driving round...
Read moreWe stayed first week in February. The location is simply stunning for views and first class if you are an expert or a confident intermediate skier, as a steep red run leads directly down down to Krupova. Unfortunately we were not. A previous reviewer states that they rent skis and book ski school at the hotel. This is no longer the case, you have to get down to Krupova. If you have no car, (we didn't), then you either take a lift up to Kosodrevina, take a short walk across to the cable car station and descend to Krupova. Unfortunately, the hotel hadn't activated our GoPasse,s so we had to walk/slide/fall down the slope.||Other issues, we are brothers not lovers, so didn't appreciate being put in a room with a double bed, not the twin we had booked! It was sorted out eventually, but we ended up in their smallest room. So not a good start. The food was plentiful, well presented and usually warm. The menu was very Slovakian, which suited us fine. It was quite heavy on carbohydrates and meat. Veg was usually evident in a salad. The table service in the Restaurant was excellent and the staff were always friendly. Very few of them had fluent English but that was our problem for not learning a bit of Slovakian!. The ski bar was comfortable again with table service. We really...
Read moreWe booked the Hotel for 4 nights and after the first night we decided to leave the Hotel. First the pictures on the website is very well done, there is no missleading but you are not into the mood as it´s in the photos. The rooms are renovated only half. Only the furniture looks new. Carpet and the bathroom is not good in my point of view. The hotel is absolutly not friendly for family with smaller kids. There is nothing arround what you can do, you cannot even rent a bob or snow slider. Breakfast and Dinner was ok, but not extra good. The atmosphere beside the reception and lobby bar is like from the old regime even the wine list you can choose only 2x red, 2x white and 1 Rose. But the thing what makes me angry was the service at the looby bar. This is the only place where you can get some food for lunch but the waiter said “the kitchen is closed because so many people ordered food!” WTF. I have little kid and I get no food and nothing arround without taking a car? Even for drinks you have to order multiple times. So I am done with Hotel Srdiecko.
Conclusion: The Hotel is ok, when you are Adults and just looking for a quite ski holiday without big party. For family with little kids there are for sure...
