We have heard a lot about this horse farm. When we traveled with our 4 children, we wanted to include horseback riding in our travel. We arrived at the farm and the owner lady told us that they were full that day but that we could arrive the next morning. The owner of the place offered 10 o'clock am and because we slept some distance from the farm I suggested the 11 o'clock. We agreed that we would arrive sometime between 10 and 11 in the morning and ride for an entire hour throughout the "Slovak Paradise".||The next day, upon our departure towards the horse farm, I sent a message to the owner of the place that we are expected to arrive around 10:45 and she replied back: "OK".||To our disappointment when we arrived the man waiting for us was angry and impatient and suddenly announced that we were late so we will ride only half an hour and not a full hour as promised.||All our attempts to explain to the man that this was agreed with the owner of the place and that she even sent "ok" confirming for us to arrive at 10:45 were unsuccessful and finally he announced unilaterally: No riding! And went to tie the horses back.||Needless to say how much our children were disappointed! So I warn everyone not to go near this not-so-nice place that does not value tourists and that does not know how to give service and keep promises.||I have a record of all the posts for...
Read moreA splendid base to explore the Slovak Paradise gorges and canyons. Located approx.1km from the trailhead and from the bustle of the campsite, this place is completely secluded and not even the nearby hotel is of any nuisance whatsoever. Instead, you´ll be surrounded by pastures and woodland, with fabulous views of High Tatras range. The rooms have all you might need incl.bathroom, fridge and free wifi, plus there is additionnal fridge in the common kitchen (plus a stove, a kettle, a microwave etc. - the kitchen is fully equipped for those on self-catering); there is also a fireplace on the premises with rain-protected seating, firewood was free. Breakfast is available upon request at an extra charge. The landlords would go out of their way to accomodate any (reasonable) requests, incl.horse rides or eventual free lifts to guests without cars, as public transportation is a problem, especially off-season. A great place to chill out and recharge from the city bustle. Will...
Read moreI recently stayed for a second time at Ranc Podlesok on the edge of the Slovensky Raj (Slovak Paradise) Park. ||The fact that I was a returning visitor suggested that I had enjoyed my previous trip with three friends walking. This was so much the case that I returned this time with my wife.||The level of service from Paul and his family is second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the whole family clearly have huge enthusiasm not only for the Hotel, but for the Park which is simply stunning.||The Spa area Ranc Podlesok have installed this year is a huge boost providing Sauna and Spa Baths which are a lovely way to unwind after a long days walking. ||That along with amenities for all ages ranging from the bouncy castle, sand pit and zip wire to the volleyball court all add to the amazing views towards the Slovak Tatras from the desk of the Bar / Restaurant area.||Simply it is a top class welcome in a beautiful...
