First thought that comes to my mind, when I retrospectively think of this hotel, is that this is a bad joke about 4 stars. This hotel boasts 4 stars but I cannot imagine what institution could endorse 4 stars to this place.||Visited this place with our friends and as the hotel was fully booked we ended up in the apartment for newlyweds. Exterior of the hotel is a mixture of a building from socialism and a reconstruction from the 90ies. And interior is very similar in common places. One thing became unforgettable for me – I have never seen so many dead flies lying on the floor.||Rooms and apartments that underwent reconstruction and refurbishment are the highlight of the hotel. They are kind of 'super' luxury, Versace-like style – golden furniture and baroque-like decorations. I will not judge this style but one has to admit that this style makes this accommodation unique. Another thing to point out here – bathroom. It has a whirlpool bath and was really spacious and in my opinion it was the only real strong point in this apartment. Nevertheless, once you stay in 4 star hotel and pay 100 euro for the room you would expect minibar with a fridge, some glasses, and something more than a cheap liquid soap in the bathroom - but don’t expect it here.||Restaurant is something that is worth mentioning. I am still not sure if it should be called restaurant. The menu is short and food definitely not 4* - I would expect similar food in a hostel for students. We decided to have pizza and waited 1 hour to get it. Waitresses tried to make their best but it still was one big chaos – no management at all. Breakfast just completed this disaster. It was not included in price of them room and we had to pay 3,30 euro for the ’a’la carte’ breakfast. There are like 7-8 items on the menu including eggs, frankfurters, cornflakes with milk etc. and you can select one. Bread is for free but butter is for extra charge – 50 cents. Still thinking how to make a perfect breakfast from cornflakes with milk and bread. ||The end of our stay here was just another fail. We had to wait to check out almost 20 minutes at the reception until somebody noticed us.||Definitely recommended to...
Read moreWonderful place to escape from city noise and rush. Extremely quiet and peaceful, with tremendous stars in the night sky and light mist over the lake in the morning. Once you wake up and see this beautiful view from the panoramic window you realize you don't want to leave this place untill you walk it all around. Very nice hotel with friendly staff and tasty breakfasts. Double room suite for four and king-size beds. In low season there are just few guests. The lake is big, so there are great opportunities...
Read moreI was in the area to visit a town nearby where my family immigrated to the US from in the 1880s. I found the Garden Hotel on TA and was very happy with the staff, the rooms, the bed, the shower, and the restaurant. ||The week prior I had been staying in country style hotels in Poland and I was very happy to have a softer bed to sleep in Slovakia!||Looks like a great lake for summer activities. I only stayed one night and hope to return when I am back...
