Uniquely beautiful surroundings and nice and cozy wellness (with extraordinary massage services) are the only two things that were good about this hotel. What is dragging the quality of this hotel down is the completely incompetent staff and poor services. The room was quite nice, but very hot and with not working thermostat. Had to report it repeatidly to get an answer - it's because the AC is switched off and they will not turn it back. Even though we understood, an apology would have been nice. Minibar not working, waiters not able to remember simple orders and bringing incorrect drinks nor able to provide any details/recommendations when it comes to wines... The last straw was the following: we had half-pension pre-paid, but it was really weird as after the dinner they tried to charge us with it again. When we challenged them about it explaining that we already have it pre-paid, they tried to provide us with some weird explanation but nobody warned us about it in advance...only when we refused to pay for it. Overall it looked as if the whole staff was hired just a day before not knowing anything about the hotel. Only the wellness receptionist was nice and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet was generous and nice, but the dinner buffet was definitely not 4* quality, all the food was cold at 7pm already and meat dry. For some of us it was not the first stay, but for all of us the last - that's for sure....
Read moreWe had a friends and family gathering at Hotel Pod Lipou and couldn't have asked for a better location and service for our event. At around 90 people it wasn't a small event and the management of Hotel Pod Lipou, and specifically the event Manager Ms. Matejova were fantastic to work with. We were able to organize a very tasty grill buffet lunch for everyone, had plenty of indoor and outdoor games at the ready for them to use, and plenty of beer on tap.
Even with the weather turning a bit, the variety of indoor spaces and activities that the hotel was able to offer us, made our event a success! Our friends raved about the quality of the food and the friendly bar service an they were happy to take part in the two escape rooms and archery available to them as well as the outdoor sports areas once the rain stopped.
Throughout the entire organization of the event and the event itself, I was happy with the level of communication, forethought, and professionalism that the management and staff showed. If you're looking to plan a fun company or family get-together with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities, I couldn't recommend Hotel Pod Lipou more!
None of our party stayed at the hotel so this review is purely for the purposes of describing the event spaces and event planning...
Read moreThis lodging has plenty to commend it, but there is one issue you should know about it before you check in.||To start with the positive, it's in a beautiful spot, with lots of trees and open space, some very nice wooded trails, great play area fir the kiddies, snappy interior design of rooms and public spaces, and tasty breakfasts with many choices available.||But be careful about the room you select or question the desk clerk about any assigned room you are given. This is not because of any in-room design, cleanliness or maintenance problems -- our room, while seeming a bit tight because of all the nice, new furniture in it -- turned out to be located right above a large entertainment space, where there was a wedding reception going on, with music so loud that it actually made the floor vibrate to the musical beat. And the loud noise went on until midnight, making it impossible to get a decent night's rest, this with a long drive ahead of us early the next morning. ||I am glad all the partiers had such a splendid time, and we too enjoyed our stay except for being right above the very loud festivities until midnight on-the-dot, when, mercifully, it...
