Misled by the neat design of their website and a few good reviews, we chose this place for a weekend in Slovakia. After two days here, we were totally disappointed by everything in Rozalka hotel, something that hasn't happened in a very long time.||First of all, the hotel is not located in the beautiful area we thought it is and pictures made us believe so. It is indeed very close to the Small Carpathian beautiful forests, but it's built in the middle of nowhere, at the edges of the small town of Pezinok, in an open, dull field.||The accommodation facilities were newly refurbished, but really a lot of problems there as well. One lamp didn't work (if one can ever imagine that: one of the two pins of the power plug was simply missing: I could never imagine that could ever happen). No fridge in the room at least to keep some of the things we bought in Slovakia. The towel racks were broken.||In the entrance hall of the hotel building, we were welcomed by a slew of dirty towels thrown all over the floor. Why would you leave all those mess of towels in the entrance hall of a hotel it is hard to say. This is what guests see first when they go to their room.||But even more unbelievable, during our stay, nobody came to clean the room. We didn't desperately need any cleaning, but this is something that hasn't happened to me in 20 years of travel and stay in all kinds of hotels. We haven't even spotted anybody around cleaning any room, so I guess they just do it randomly when they have their cleaners available (or whatever). It was all bad and disappointing and there is so many more problems and issues with this hotel that we could write thousands of words... (One: they didn't even supply sufficient toilet paper, we had to go and get some from the reception while we had dinner, embarrassing, totally: and nobody ever apologised for that).||The staff were equally disappointing. It's clear that these people have no clue about customer relations and it seems that nobody is asking them to behave, to be nice or to help. We have not heard a "thank you" or an apology for the many things that went wrong during the stay ((I even spoke the local language with them). Nobody gave a hoot about whether we enjoy the stay or need anything. When we asked about cycling trails in the area, we were told that they don't have any maps or anything that could help.||Add to that a really frugal breakfast (some poor selection of cheeses and salamis and a few sausages) and you know why we had a nightmarish weekend.||At some point, I wondered why this place even existed. There is nothing pleasant or good about it or its people to even write a review. But I do it for others to know about it and help avoid the bitterness you feel after a...
Read moreNice hotel, with exercisingtrails not so far away. The lack of signs written in english in town is sad as it is quite hard to read and comprehend a language I do not speak.
Hotel Rozálka is a good and neat hotel with friendly staff, and an overall nice outside environment with horses, goats and a goose or two.
What could be improved is the dining. During our meals there were no options. Only the food that was given to us. There were also no other drinks than lemon water. I am not sure if this is due to how our stay was arranged by the camp manager but I feel like we could have gotten a bit more to choose from.
The breakfast was quite nice. Although the scrambled eggs were wet and not fluffy. Could have been cooked better. The tomatoes that I suppose were meant to be on the bread were cut in four. I would prefer if they were sliced so they are easier to eat and put in/on the sandwich.
The cleaning could also have been carried out more...
