Kalix Boutique Hotel **** — Hotel in Poprad

As other people mentioned, check if your room has air conditioning because even if hotel represents itself as 4 star, very few rooms have AC. We booked the most expensive suite with AC and guess what... there was AC in kitchen, but not in bedroom! And the room was in attic, so it was impossible to sleep in bedroom and we had to sleep kitchen instead.

Be aware the hotel is in middle of nowhere, next to a big farm with hundreds of cows, so you can't even open windows in summer because of horrible smell.

A single waiter in restaurant also works as a receptionist, and then leaves the hotel, that's why you have to check out before breakfast ends (10 AM). Needless to say, they have no food/drinks beside breakfast, so your only option is to get a taxi to city, which is 10 minutes drive.

Peccato veramente, perché questo Hotel situato a poca distanza dal centro di Poprad (per raggiungerlo è comunque necessaria una macchina!) aveva tutte le carte in regola per ottenere una recensione a 5 stelle. ||Aspetti positivi:||- Il look generale della struttura è molto bello, moderno ma non troppo, minimal ma non troppo, ben illuminato e ben decorato. |-La camere sono ampie, luminose e belle. I letto comodi|-Il cibo della colazione e della cena è ottimo, ben presentato e ben cucinato.|- Il wi-fi funziona benissimo in tutta la struttura ed è presente un parcheggio interno||Aspetti negativi: ||- La colazione, per quanto buona, presenta veramente una ristrettissima possibilità di scelta. C’è veramente poca poca roba. Peccato.|- Alcuni camerieri all’interno dell’hotel parlano un inglese stentato, rendendo talvolta difficili le comunicazioni.|- La prima notte la camera non è stata pulita, sono state solo ripiegate le lenzuola. Per cui il lavello, la doccia, il bagno ed i pavimenti sono stati lasciati sporchi. Una lampadina di un comodino era fulminata. Abbiamo fatto presente questi due problemi alla reception: la stanza è poi stata pulita (ma non ci sarebbe bisogno di alcun sollecito!), la lampadina non è stata cambiata. |- La televisione (che non guardo ma essendo questo un hotel quattro stelle alcune cose dovrebbero essere d’obbligo) ha solo canali slovacchi. Non chiedo neanche quelli italiani, ma almeno qualcosa in inglese.. niente di niente....

Cons: No elevator - we stayed in the apt which are the most expensive ones and also the highest ones. Taking luggage to 3rd floor without elevator, it's challenging. Limited breakfast options Missing "do not disturb" label - this caused cleaning lady to enter without knocking
